The Self-Guided Driving Audio tour was, in my view, the ideal way to explore Saguaro National Park. Hearing descriptions of our surroundings proved very helpful, especially for identifying scenic viewpoints and trails. We gained insights into the park's history and the lives of its early inhabitants, as well as the local flora and fauna. Instead of just driving through and wondering about the unique plants and animals, the audio tour enriched our experience. The visitor center was also a valuable stop.
The narrative was highly informative and added great value for a modest price. It covered not just the park, but also the attractions and historical context throughout the journey.
The self-guided tour is straightforward and the narration is excellent. There are numerous stops to take in the sights, although some parts of the road are unpaved. Overall, a highly enjoyable experience.
The tour with ActionTourGuide had several issues that made it unsatisfactory for us. I downloaded the tour without any issues, but there were times when the narrator unexpectedly activated during our visits to visitor centers or while hiking. He was supposed to speak only when we were driving past certain locations. Moreover, the recordings often cut off both the beginning and end of his comments, so we missed parts of his talks. The guide lacked a clear map of our driving route and stops, and it provided minimal recommendations for hikes, museums, and other local attractions. When information was given, it was sometimes inaccurate; for example, a short hike described as 2.5 miles taking 45-60 minutes was actually just 0.3 miles and about a 10-minute walk. I have used other guides that performed much better, so I will not be using ActionTourGuide again and suggest trying GuideAlong instead.
This was an excellent way to explore and learn about the park. I would definitely use this audio app again for my future visits. It was user-friendly and provided extensive information on the park and its trails.
After figuring out how everything operates, it was enjoyable. The tour's starting point isn’t clearly marked, particularly without a landmark. While driving to begin, the narration started automatically as we crossed into a new section.
The audio tour of Saguaro National Park was truly enjoyable. We gained insights into the park's history and appreciated the suggested stops. It was an excellent way to experience the park.
We used the Action Tour app to play the downloaded soundtrack while my phone was connected to Android Auto, and it worked perfectly. I appreciated how the tour automatically resumed itself if we veered off track, picking up right where we left off. The app's map function was effective, and the narrated facts were engaging. The tour duration was just right. I would recommend it to others and would gladly do it again.
The website and app lack user-friendliness, making them overly complicated for the average person. I would not suggest this to others.
This tour was the best part of our visit to Tucson. We downloaded the app at our hotel using their Wi-Fi, and it functioned flawlessly offline in both the East and West districts. It felt like having a personal guide in the car—very informative and user-friendly. It's an excellent deal because one download covers the entire vehicle!
