Unfortunately, the instructions for where to go and how to get there were unclear, which led us to the wrong entrance and caused us to miss out on the audio experience. It was very frustrating.
I had a terrible experience due to unclear instructions. I drove two hours to the meeting point, only to find myself lost and without internet access. Even when I regained service, the Shaka guide was not providing correct directions. I eventually reached the desert museum using my car's GPS, but it was too late to see any animals, so I returned to my hotel. This could have been a good experience if the initial information had been clearer.
The scenery was incredible. The guided tour provided insights that we wouldn’t have known otherwise, including details about the unique fan style of Saguaro cactus, ancient rock formations, and different types of cacti. It was a highly informative experience with a perfect balance of commentary, and the music added to the enjoyment.
I had a great time and would gladly participate again. I'm also considering purchasing other experiences from this vendor.
I utilized the audio tour in Saguaro National Park, specifically on the East Side, which I found quite engaging. The loop road worked well with the recording. However, the West Side was more frustrating, as the system struggled to detect my location.
The app experience was enjoyable for me overall. The storytellers spoke in soothing tones that were easy to follow, and the background music was pleasant without being distracting. However, I wished for more details on the various animals and plant species within the park.
We began the tour, but the music started playing, leading to a repetitive cycle. We realized we had made an error in choosing this tour and gained no insights from it. We wasted a significant portion of our day attempting to move beyond the initial stage without success.
The narration provided a wealth of information, and I appreciated the self-guided aspect that allowed me to go at my own pace. The GPS feature was helpful in keeping me on track and informing me when to make turns.
This experience was marketed as an audio driving tour, but it is not worth it at all. The National Park Service visitor center provides all the necessary information for a driving tour in their complimentary map. Save your money, as this feels like a scam.
Exploring Saguaro National Park is effortless with the audio tour that guides you through and shares the park's history. I strongly recommend it, especially for those visiting for the first time.
