Two hours walking tour and scavenger hunt through old town Trois-Rivières — 35 historical sites and 42 challenges along a 2.5 km route.
Take a self-guided two-hour walking tour through the historic streets of Trois-Rivières, covering approximately 2.5 km. The route begins at City Hall and leads you to the port park, as well as the Ursuline Museum and the Assumption Cathedral, with opportunities to enjoy local parks and admire old mansions along the way.
This activity combines sightseeing with a scavenger hunt format, featuring 42 challenges that make learning about the city's history interactive and fun. Suitable for all ages, the tour is easy to navigate and stroller-friendly. There are two levels of difficulty available for wheelchairs, making it accessible for a wider audience. Consider starting and ending your tour at Harbor Park for a convenient option, especially if you're coming from a cruise.
Reviews
The idea is promising, but we had difficulty with the execution. We couldn't locate many of the sites along the route. Having a map or street names would have been beneficial. While we did discover a few things, others eluded us.
The concept was enjoyable, but we encountered several issues. While the initial clues were manageable, those involving codes were time-consuming under pressure. One location, 209 Rue du Forges, was nonexistent and just a blank wall. We eventually found the answer at 309, where the Majestic is located. Directions at the steps were unclear, causing us to make an incorrect turn. Unfortunately, we couldn't finish due to needing to return to the boat. I suggest offering two versions of the activity: one for more agile participants and another for those aged 65-75. Additionally, the first bus we needed to find was covered in graffiti, which detracted from the experience, and one clue directed us to a theater that was entirely under demolition. Regular checks of the locations are essential since things change frequently in cities. Missing a clue complicates getting back on track. We would like to complete the activity and plan to return to Trois Rivieres on September 22nd. Can we resume at the Missionary?
