• You will be collected from your hotel in Kovalam in the morning. The journey to Kanyakumari, located 55 miles away, takes approximately two and a half hours. Upon arrival in Kanyakumari, the first stop will be the 3000-year-old Kumari Amman Temple found on the seashore. This temple is dedicated to the virgin Goddess Kanyakumari, believed to have defeated a demon at this location. • The next visit will be to the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, which is situated on an island close to the coast. Swami Vivekananda meditated on this rock before deciding to convey his messages to the world. Lunch will be at your own expense in a local restaurant. • Following lunch, the Gandhi Memorial will be visited. This memorial, shaped like a temple, overlooks the sea at the site where his ashes were displayed for public mourning prior to their immersion in the sea. The structure is an architectural wonder. On October 2nd, Gandhi's birth anniversary, sunlight illuminates the location where the urn with his ashes was displayed. • A ferry ride will then take you to the nearby island, home to a 133-foot tall statue of Thiruvalluvar, renowned Tamil poet and philosopher. This massive stone statue, comparable to the Colossus of Rhodes, was created by 5,000 sculptors and weighs over 14 million pounds. Its height symbolizes the 133 chapters of the poet's esteemed work, Thirukkural. You will have the opportunity to enjoy the vibrant colors of the sunset by the ocean before concluding your visit to Kanyakumari. After the tour, you will be taken back to Kovalam and dropped off at your hotel.
