Trabzon is an absolute must-visit, and our guide, Ozkan, made our experience unforgettable. His deep knowledge and enthusiasm for the region were remarkable. The visit to Sumela Monastery was truly stunning, but what made our tour exceptional was Ozkan's willingness to go the extra mile. He suggested a stop at a local market and Bedesten, which added an unforgettable dimension to our trip despite not being on the original itinerary. We enjoyed tasting the local anchovies and wrapped up our day with tea and Turkish coffee alongside some residents, which allowed us to immerse ourselves in the local culture. A heartfelt thank you to Ozkan for delivering such an authentic experience in Trabzon. We will definitely recommend this tour to others.

What an extraordinary experience at the Sumela Monastery surrounded by snow! This day tour was superb. Özkan, our guide, was excellent with his native-level English and brought the history to life at every stop. He provided great encouragement during our snowy hike at Sumela Monastery. I truly enjoyed getting to know him while visiting Sumela, Ataturk’s Pavilion, and Hagia Sofia. We also enjoyed a wonderful and tasty lunch together. Overall, I had a fantastic tour that felt more like making a friend. I highly recommend this tour, especially for English speakers, and I am grateful for the experience.
The location and the view from the monastery were truly fantastic. However, it's not suitable for the elderly due to many steps. I deducted one star because the toilet was unheated and not elderly-friendly. I also took off another star as our guide was too rushed and didn't pay enough attention to the guests, being overly serious. Overall, it was satisfactory, but there's definitely room for improvement.
Request Özkan as your guide. His entertaining stories captivated my three teenage daughters, who all enjoyed his engaging dialogue. He provided a wealth of information and was very thoughtful. This experience is definitely worth the cost, and he also helped me with other plans during my stay.
