The Torrevieja Salt Lakes, or Las Salinas de Torrevieja, are a striking natural reserve located just south of the Spanish town of Torrevieja. These vast salt lagoons, formed through the evaporation of seawater for salt production, offer a vivid landscape characterized by deep pink and white hues, a result of microalgae and salt deposits. The area attracts birdwatchers, particularly during migratory seasons, as it is home to flamingos and other waterfowl. Visiting in the cooler months provides the best experience, with fewer crowds and more manageable temperatures.
