• You will be collected from your hotel in Thanjavur in the early morning along with your guide. Following this, you will drive to Madurai. During the journey, you will see the traditional lifestyles and agricultural scenery of Southern India. Arrive in Madurai after around three hours. Begin your visit at the impressive Meenakshi Amman Temple, known for its thousand pillars and dedicated to Parvathi, the wife of Lord Shiva. The temple's Gopurams, or pyramidal towers, are adorned with vibrant depictions of various mythical beings and deities. Take a break for lunch at a local restaurant after your visit to Meenakshi Amman Temple. (Lunch is included). • Next, visit the remarkable Koodal Alagar Temple, an excellent example of seventeenth-century architecture dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu. • Continue to Thirumalai Nayak Mahal, which once served as the palace for the renowned Nayaka dynasty. • Finally, visit the Gandhi Museum, established to honor Mahatma Gandhi, the leader of Indian Independence, after his assassination. (The museum is closed on Sundays). At the end of your tour, you will be transported back to your hotel in the center of Thanjavur.
