• The journey begins with a morning pickup from your hotel for a two and a half hour drive to the Temple of the Sun, located near Kumbakonam. This temple, one of the few historic ones dedicated to the Sun God, features shrines for all nine celestial bodies in the Hindu zodiac and was constructed in the 11th century A.D. by Chola King Kulothunga I. It is believed that the Sun God grants health, success, and prosperity. • Following this, you will head to the Temple of the Moon in Thingalur, which is an hour's drive from the Temple of the Sun. The Moon God is considered a source of relief from stress and sorrow. This temple boasts a large statue of the Nandi bull at its entrance and a 16-sided Lingam linked to the Hindu God Shiva. • The next stop will be the Temple of Venus, located in Kanjanur, approximately 21 miles from the Temple of the Moon. Venus is believed to resolve issues connected to love, marriage, beauty, and comfort. • The final destination for the day is the Temple of Rahu in Thirunageswaram, just a half-hour drive away. Rahu is associated with negative influences in one's horoscope, and worship at this temple is intended to alleviate those adverse effects. All four temples, constructed during the Chola dynasty from the 7th to the 11th century A.D., exemplify Dravidian architectural style featuring a five-tiered central tower and intricate exteriors.
