• 8:00 AM: Pickup from your hotel in Trichy will take place, and the trip to Chettinad, situated approximately 165 kilometers away, will commence. • 11:00 AM: Arrival in Chettinad marks the start of the sightseeing tour. Chettinad is noted for its 19th-century mansions featuring spacious rooms and large courtyards, embellished with marble and teak. The materials used in construction, along with furnishings and decorative items, were mostly sourced from East Asia and Europe, including marble from Italy, chandeliers and teak from Burma, crockery from Indonesia, crystals from Europe, and wall mirrors from Belgium. Visits will be made to notable open mansions such as the Chettinad Mansions and Chettinad Palace, as well as several temples including the Vairavan Kovil Temple, Karpaga Vinayakar Temple, Kundrakudi Murugan Temple, and Kottaiyur Sivan Temple. • 12:45 PM: A lunch break at a local restaurant is scheduled. • 1:30 PM: Departure towards Madurai, located roughly 90 kilometers from Chettinad. • 3:30 PM: Arrival in Madurai initiates the sightseeing tour. Madurai is well-known for the Meenakshi Sundareshwar Temple, one of the largest temple complexes in India, constructed between the 16th and 18th centuries, featuring around 33 million sculptures and renowned for its continuous ceremonies and busy market stalls. The Tiruparankundram Murugan Temple, built in rock-cut architecture by the Pandyas in the 6th century, will also be visited, along with Tirumal Nayak's Palace, characterized by a decorative structure with a large roofed arcade supported by 48-foot high stone pillars that remain intact. • 5:30 PM: The sightseeing tour in Madurai will conclude, followed by the drive back to Trichy. • 9:00 PM: Arrival back at your hotel in Trichy, where you will be dropped off by the driver.
