I recently spent a few days on Terceira and decided to explore beyond Angra with Vitor's wine immersion tour. I really enjoyed my time with him and other guests. Biscoitos was stunning, and the wine museum provided an excellent introduction to the island's winemaking history. Vitor was engaging and shared a wealth of information. Towards the end of the tour, we lingered in his courtyard, tasting delicious snacks including breads, cheeses, and meats, along with more local wine. The rosé and white wines were wonderful, especially paired with the sweet cake his wife made and the dessert wines and liqueurs. I'm looking forward to returning to see Vitor again!
Don't miss out on this experience. I had a fantastic time on Terceira, and this tour stood out as my favorite. Vitor picked us up promptly at our hotel, and we shared the experience with another couple from Utah. This was the best food tour I've ever participated in, and I've done many around the world. Vitor and his wife truly made it memorable. We started at a wine co-op, where we learned about wine production and enjoyed delightful wild cherry tomatoes. The highlight came next when Vitor took us to his home, where his wife had prepared exquisite tapas paired with the wine we sampled. The wine and food were exceptional, including jams and liquors made from grapes from Vitor's garden. However, the most enjoyable part was spending three hours with Vitor and his wife, sharing food and wine. I highly recommend this tour.
This tour was incredible. It offered more than just wine tasting; we gained a wealth of knowledge about the island, its land, culture, and cuisine. Our guide was very responsive to our questions. The meal at the conclusion of the tour was the highlight—casual, welcoming, and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this experience.
We had an outstanding tour with Vitor, who was both friendly and well-informed. Our visit included the wine museum, where we tasted fortified wine, saw the vineyards, and enjoyed a natural pool. Vitor and his wife hosted a tasting of three wines paired with codfish cakes, a cheese plate, freshly grilled sausage, and Dona Ameilda cake.
This tour was truly exceptional. Victor, our guide, demonstrated impressive customer service backed by years of experience. After a driving tour with several stops, he and Hélia invited us to their home for a feast of meats, cheeses, homemade jams, and dessert, all while sharing insights about the country and its traditions. We even got a glimpse into Victor's military history tours due to our curiosity. We highly recommend this experience.
