My granddaughter and I have experienced class 3 and class 4 rapids before, so I expected a less thrilling adventure. I was pleasantly surprised; the San Miguel River was quick and had plenty of twists and turns. The excitement was nonstop, perhaps even better than our previous experiences. Plus, you can brag to your friends about descending 24 miles on a wild river fed by mountain snowmelt. The drive was absolutely worth it. Joe was an exceptional guide—his knowledge of the river surpassed that of Jay or Bella.
The rafting experience down the San Miguel with Mild to Wild and Hayden was fantastic. It was filled with fun and laughter, and the day seemed to fly by. I would definitely recommend this trip, especially for first-time rafters.
Rafting down the San Miguel was an incredible experience. We enjoyed perfect weather and water levels, thanks to Mild2Wild's well-organized trip. The meeting point was easy to locate, and they provided comfortable wetsuits and booties, so we didn't need shoes. Our guide, Corbin, was exceptional; he shared fascinating history about the region and offered clear instructions. We stopped for a tasty lunch of chips and sandwiches before hitting the river again. All the guides were friendly, making for a wonderful day. Just keep in mind that since the river is undammed, water levels depend on snowmelt; while mid-June was ideal this year, conditions can vary greatly.
We had an incredible day! The river was thrilling throughout the entire journey. Our fantastic guides, Joe (Bananas) and Corbin, were not only skilled and knowledgeable but also made the experience both exciting and very safe. We had a great time laughing and cheering. I would choose this crew again without hesitation. Highly recommended.
I had an incredible first-time experience white-water rafting on the San Miguel River. The crew was highly professional, and I found the camp easily. The lunch stop was well-timed. The only downside was not getting the group photo. I would definitely do this again.
The day spent on the San Miguel was outstanding. Although the initial part was somewhat daunting, Ben's skill ensured we stayed dry. The final stretch was more relaxed, surrounded by breathtaking views. Ben proved to be an excellent guide, even hiking upstream to assist another raft that had gotten stuck. He added a fun element while prioritizing safety throughout the trip. There was a small mix-up with our booking as we were scheduled for the previous day, which we hadn’t noticed. When we were contacted about our absence, Mild to Wild promptly resolved the situation without any hassle. Thank you, Mild to Wild!
Corbin was a fantastic guide! We had a wonderful time, sharing laughs and taking in the stunning views. The lunch provided exceeded our expectations as well. This company will certainly be our choice for our next adventure.
This experience was absolutely incredible. As a first-timer with white water rafting, it far exceeded my expectations. Our guide, Rob, was fantastic—knowledgeable, focused on safety, and had a wonderful personality. The first part of the trip was exhilarating, while the latter half offered a more relaxed atmosphere, allowing us to capture photos and appreciate the stunning nature around us. I can't recommend this enough and would love to do it again. Thank you!
A big thank you to Toby at Mild to Wild Rafting! We just finished our Split Mountain rafting experience, and Toby made it truly memorable. His expertise about the river, steady assurance, and great humor created an ideal balance of safety and enjoyment. He kept the group entertained and smiling, guiding us through the rapids and highlighting the most interesting sights. If you choose Mild to Wild, definitely request Toby—you'll be glad you did! Thanks for an incredible day on the water!
The San Miguel is one of our preferred wild rivers for rafting. We've experienced it both at high and low water levels, but this was the lowest we've encountered. M2W offered the option to cancel with a credit, but we decided to proceed. The full day turned into two runs of the same half-day section since the lower part was completely un-runnable. Nevertheless, it turned out to be an enjoyable and challenging experience, as the river's significant grade provided a fast run. Our guide, Nina, adeptly navigated us through rocks that would have been submerged at higher levels. Safety was a top priority; Nina pulled me out of the river in what felt like less than 15 seconds when I held onto my stuck paddle too long and the raft moved on without me. Mild2Wild has always provided a safety briefing before each trip, and that preparation helped me know exactly what to do when I found myself briefly floating beside the raft. Over the past 10 years, we’ve participated in many trips with M2W, and they consistently impress us. The guides are friendly, knowledgeable about the area, and well-trained. We look forward to returning.
