Reviews
The tour was quite fascinating. We learned a lot of historical details and facts along the way. While exploring Taos, we visited parts we hadn’t known about before. It was a delightful place to explore. We enjoyed the walking tour app so much that we decided to try another one in Santa Fe.
The tour was straightforward and offered plenty of flexibility, allowing you to pause, rewind, or skip ahead while shopping. Just ensure that all the museums and shops you want to visit are open on that day and at that time.
Initially, it's evident that a lot of effort went into developing the app. However, I found it challenging to use during frequent distractions, such as dealing with our anxious dog. This led to accidentally skipping or missing important instructions, like "facing the ___ turn left." Although the directions are clear, missing them can be problematic. Additionally, I was uncomfortable with the app speaking aloud while other people were nearby. Although earphones would have helped, we forgot to bring ours, and I doubt we could have found two working pairs. Trying to access the written instructions was also frustrating as I kept getting redirected, possibly due to location sensitivity. I recommend thoroughly exploring the app prior to starting. I'm used to various apps, but I struggled to navigate this one without my full focus. It would be beneficial if the map and written instructions were easier to access.
This tour is definitely worth it. I experienced sights and visited locations I wouldn't have explored on my own. The information provided was ample, and the directions were easy to follow. I highly recommend it.
A charming and tranquil village that offers a comfortable atmosphere. It feels safe, and there are many intriguing aspects to explore. The architecture is particularly beautiful.
The information provided was solid, making it a decent choice for a brief experience. We gained valuable insights about Taos, though it doesn't quite match the experience of a live tour.
The audio guide for Taos is very user-friendly and captivating (don't forget your earbuds!). It takes you through important sights in the downtown plaza area. We parked in the Harwood Museum's overflow lot, where our tour started, and explored the museum, which was quite engaging. Keep in mind that this isn’t a loop tour, so you will need to navigate back to the start, but that's manageable, especially with Google Maps. The walk is flat and easy, offering a blend of historical sites and great shopping options for art and unique Taos items.
We couldn’t participate on Saturday. I reached out to Gary for an extension, but he didn’t reply. I wouldn’t suggest this tour unless you’re certain you can stick to the date you select, as plans can often shift during vacation.
This audio tour is fantastic, featuring engaging stories and is straightforward to follow. I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to get an overview of the Taos Plaza area.
Visiting Taos through this tour was an excellent introduction to the plaza, its history, architecture, and arts. We felt well-prepared to explore more thoughtfully the following day.
