We visited on a Monday, not realizing it was President's Day, and the zoo was quite packed with children. We barely found a parking spot in the employee overflow lot down the street, which should have been a warning. Despite the crowds, the zoo is extensive, and we managed to view most of the outdoor animal exhibits. Some sections were restricted due to a private event, which was disappointing. The animals appeared well cared for, with clean and spacious enclosures. Signage was clear about the animals on display, and the staff we spoke with were both helpful and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, the manatee underwater viewing area was unavailable. We didn't try the dining options, but there seemed to be several places to eat. While the admission fee of $50 per adult is somewhat steep, it contributes to the care of the animals, which makes it acceptable.
As annual pass holders, our family appreciates the freedom it offers. We brought my grandmother, and she prefers this zoo over the San Diego Zoo. The staff was wonderful and assisted us with our family member who uses a wheelchair. We really enjoyed feeding the stingrays! It's great to have optional extras, but participation isn't mandatory.
This zoo is quite impressive. I bought an annual membership that offers great perks, such as complimentary parking.
The $50 zoo admission seemed a bit steep at first, but it was absolutely worth it. The grounds are beautifully laid out with spacious, natural enclosures and everything is kept clean and easily accessible. Our visit wasn’t busy, allowing us to enjoy the experience without long lines or crowding. A standout feature was the manatee rehabilitation area, especially the underwater viewing, which we revisited because it was so engaging and informative. The zoo offered a diverse array of animals, including orangutans, okapi (which we hadn’t seen before), tigers, giraffes, and stunning birds. It turned out to be a fun and relaxing day. Families with young children would find it an ideal outing too, as there are splash pads spread throughout the zoo. Although the food prices were high as expected, the quality was pleasantly surprising. It's wise to bring your own water bottle to avoid spending around $7 for one on-site.
The zoo exceeded my expectations with its incredible environment. There are great food and drink options, making it a truly wonderful day. Take your time to enjoy everything—plan to spend the entire day for a theme park-like experience.
The entire experience was fantastic! My children had a blast on all the rides, discovering and learning about the animals, cooling off at the splash pad, and getting to feed and touch the stingrays while seeing the manatees up close. The park even featured a small store that offered freshly made food and a variety of drinks, similar to a mini mart. I enjoyed a chicken Caesar wrap that was surprisingly restaurant quality. This is an excellent stop for a family vacation, sure to delight the kids.
Our experience at Zoo Tampa was fantastic. There were numerous well-cared-for animals, and the misting stations were a nice touch during the heat. The rides, particularly the safari, were a hit with our kids. We plan to return on our next trip to Florida.
We had the most incredible day at the zoo, which was easily our best zoo experience to date. The animal exhibits were spacious, clean, and well maintained. The animals appeared happy and were very active. Our children, aged 6, 4, and 2, thoroughly enjoyed not just observing the animals but also riding the boat water ride, the carousel, and having fun at the large splash pad and playground. We also rented a double stroller, which worked perfectly for our kids. The staff was exceptionally friendly and pleasant. Overall, it was an amazing experience.
It was a wonderful surprise with plenty of animals and additional activities. The classes, volunteers, and all the staff were incredibly helpful.
We visit ZooTampa annually to support their efforts. The animal exhibits are well-maintained and provide fantastic environments for the creatures. The staff is both friendly and well-informed, making each visit enjoyable.
