We journeyed from Colombo to Galle, which took us about 3-4 hours. Our first stop was a turtle sanctuary, where we had an incredible experience touching and holding various turtles, thanks to the friendly and informative staff. Next, we visited a tea plantation and a gem store; the tea plantation was the most eye-opening experience I've had in Sri Lanka. Our knowledgeable guide explained the tea-making process thoroughly. The highlight of the tour was Galle Fort, where the lighthouse was breathtaking in person, and there was a beach nearby for swimming. The boat safari in Bentota was amazing, allowing us to see crocodiles and monkeys, and we even got to hold a baby crocodile. The provided lunch was delicious, and our guide, Sakun, was wonderful and very accommodating. If you're considering a trip to Galle, go for it! You won't regret it, as you'll have an amazing time.
We had an amazing day exploring the best of Sri Lanka. Our driver was friendly and well-informed. The tea factory visit and river safari were highlights, and the jewellery shop suggested was wonderful. The owner was also very responsive and pleasant in our communications. Highly recommend!
