The Tadoussac Whale Watching Tour was an unforgettable experience for us. We encountered various whales, seals, and birds. Our guide was knowledgeable and actively engaged during the trip. The tour adhered to its scheduled times, which was appreciated. I strongly recommend this tour and suggest allowing some extra time to explore the Tadoussac area.
Whale watching can be unpredictable, with no assurances on how close the whales will come. The experience is essentially a boat ride in search of these magnificent creatures. The vessel is well-maintained and operated with professionalism. A bilingual guide provides commentary throughout the trip. Those willing to pay extra can enjoy a VIP section with glass walls. Be sure to dress warmly.
The boat ride was quite chilly, but we were advised to dress in layers and wear coats. We spotted beluga whales and their babies in the St. Lawrence River before boarding. The trip was thrilling, as we also encountered a humpback whale and numerous dolphins that day. We opted for the three-deck boat, which provided a relatively smooth experience, though the cost per person was on the higher side.
Upon arrival at the ticket station, we encountered an attendant who wouldn't assist us with redeeming our reservation due to our limited French. She provided us with vague directions to another kiosk, and it took considerable time to navigate, as the map she supplied only had two unclear circles marked. After much effort and questioning, we managed to resolve our issue, only to discover that parking was far from the dock—we had just come from that location. We were informed of a shuttle that ended up leaving without us, which forced my husband to quickly walk back to the boat. Additionally, the server on the boat was curt with us as English speakers, snapping at us several times. This experience was expected to be enhanced by the VIP service but turned out disappointing due to the lack of patience and kindness.
The boat trip fell short of expectations. We spotted a few belugas from afar, but they appeared as mere white dots on the river. Although we detected a Fin whale's spout, we couldn't see the whale itself. There were no other marine animals like seals or dolphins. Thankfully, we opted for the upper deck, which was less crowded, but the lower deck was quite packed. The guide communicated primarily in French, using English only occasionally. Overall, it felt overpriced for a chilly boat experience.
The experience was excellent; the guide at the summit was fantastic. We spotted whales and seals, though it was quite cold.
We had an excellent guide who combined humor with remarkable professionalism. She had an amazing ability to spot whales. The boat trip itself was very enjoyable.
The excursion was well-organized and efficient, though spotting whales is not guaranteed. However, I wouldn't rely on the return shuttle as they are reportedly always available.
An exceptional experience! Since our trip took place on the second day of the season, the town was calm, and our boat was only about half filled. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful, offering great insights and knowledge. I highly recommend it for everyone!
We had an incredible experience with the chance to see beluga whales, and the guides provided excellent support during the entire trip.
