• The journey begins in Amman. After being collected from your hotel, you will travel in a climate-controlled vehicle accompanied by a private English-speaking driver, with Wi-Fi available on board. As you head south to Madaba, you can take in Jordan's desert vistas. The driver will provide assistance with points of interest and relevant information during the ride, but will not serve as a guide. Upon arrival in Madaba, explore this ancient town known for its mosaics dating back to the 2nd century, particularly the well-known 6th-century mosaic map of Jordan and the Holy Land located in the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George, highlighting places associated with biblical stories. • Tour the historic Catholic Church of Saint John the Baptist, which features a stunning Bell Tower offering a panoramic view of Madaba. Visit the underground museum dedicated to Saint John the Baptist, and have some free time to explore a mosaic workshop if desired. • Proceed to Mount Nebo, a sacred site in Jordan with an elevation of approximately 817 meters above sea level. This mountain holds significant religious importance as a key Judeo-Christian pilgrimage location, being where Moses first saw the Promised Land and where it is said he died. A small monastery was constructed by Egyptian monks at the summit in honor of Moses, which has since been rebuilt into a basilica that still stands today, displaying well-preserved Byzantine mosaics depicting wildlife and hunting scenes. The site not only attracts history buffs but also offers sweeping views of the Holy Land and the Jordan River Valley from its peak. • The Baptism Site of Jesus Christ, located on the Jordanian side of the Jordan River, was referred to as Bethany beyond the Jordan in biblical times and is recognized as one of Christianity's three holiest sites where Jesus was baptized by John. This makes it a significant historical and religious location. You will have the opportunity to pray at this pilgrimage site, known as ‘Maghtas’ in Arabic, which is one of the most important recent archaeological discoveries, with excavations that began in 1996 revealing more than 20 churches, caves, and baptismal pools from the Roman and Byzantine eras. Enjoy the historical ambience of this site, preserved much like it was over 2000 years ago, enriched with diverse flora and fauna. After visiting these sacred locations and enjoying the views, you will meet your driver for the return trip, concluding with a drop-off at your hotel.
