Two hours of kayaking on illuminated waters — an interactive night tour with fish feeding and seabird viewing at St. Pete Beach.
This two-hour guided tour takes you kayaking on St. Pete Beach's illuminated waters, where you’ll see an array of marine life. The tour begins with a trip to a nearby mangrove bird island, where you’ll learn about various seabird species before heading into the protected waterways.
The kayaks feature a glass bottom and are equipped with a custom LED light system that attracts fish, allowing for an up-close encounter as they follow you. You'll get the chance to touch some fish, and you might spot crabs and shrimp along the way. Suitable for all ages, the kayaks are dry, so wear comfortable clothing and shoes to stay warm during cooler evenings.

We participated in the lighted night kayak on the first night of our spring break vacation. It's essential to dress warmly, as the evening breeze can be quite chilly. This experience was the highlight of our trip! We discovered fascinating facts about the area and were impressed by the quantity of fish visible under the bridge. It was a wonderful family outing we will always cherish. The guides provided plenty of information, and we never felt hurried. As newcomers to kayaking, we blended in perfectly and felt stable the entire time. Even if we had tipped, our life jackets kept us safe and warm in the cool temperatures. We launched from a ramp, ensuring our feet stayed dry. Just bring towels to cover your lap, as that was the only spot that got a bit wet from paddling.
What a distinctive and enjoyable experience. Our guide and the entire team were exceptional—knowledgeable, humorous, and enjoyable to be with. They assisted my elderly mother in and out of the kayak willingly. While my husband stayed with her, I paddled solo and had an amazing time. Thanks to everyone at Sharkey’s!
The tour did not live up to being guided as promised. We didn't encounter any sea life, which was disheartening. While the guides were pleasant and knowledgeable, they couldn't salvage the experience. Overall, it felt like a waste of money.
While I understand that cancellations due to weather are beyond their control, the complete lack of communication from them was disappointing. I tried calling multiple times, sent messages, and asked questions beforehand, yet received no responses. They only contacted me to cancel, offering a reschedule or refund. Since it was our last day in Florida, I requested a refund and heard nothing back. Eventually, I had to request the refund through the booking site, which was completed days later, but I still did not get a response from them. What could have been a fun experience resulted in significant frustration and a sense of disregard for a paying customer. I highly advise against making a reservation if there’s any possibility of cancellation due to weather. I can't comment on the actual experience since it was cancelled, but their communication and customer service definitely left much to be desired.
Our kayaking adventure was truly incredible. We had a fantastic time, and the staff were excellent and very supportive.
It was a tranquil experience with an informative guide, making it enjoyable for the whole family. The scenery was stunning, and feeding the fish added to the fun. The transition from dusk to night was beautiful, with incredible lighting.
The guides were entertaining and kind, making for an enjoyable experience. I really enjoyed seeing the catfish. When you reach the bridge, being closer to the group allows you to see even more.
The experience was fantastic. The views were stunning, and the guides provided excellent commentary on everything we saw. There were thousands of fish to feed. I would highly recommend this, 10 out of 10.
This was a really enjoyable experience. It was somewhat difficult to hear our guide Jake, and I hoped for more detailed information throughout the tour. Overall, it was a lot of fun. A tip: stay close to the guide to catch all the instructions. Also, be sure to choose the kayak with the white LED.
An incredibly enjoyable experience for those trying it for the first time. The guides were friendly and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend it.
