We had an incredible experience on this concert cruise. The local musician Jim Feehan was fantastic, performing a range of Newfoundland and popular songs for two full hours, and even took requests. The crew was extremely friendly and went out of their way to enhance our experience, especially Glen. We travelled through the narrows of St. John’s harbour and saw notable sights like The Battery, Signal Hill, Fort Amherst, Cape Spear, and even ventured near Petty Harbour. We encountered many whales and various sea birds, with a stop to watch breaching whales up close for photos. Overall, it was a stunning tour with spectacular views, perfect for capturing beautiful moments. I wholeheartedly recommend this experience.
I arranged this tour for my family of four on the day of the trip and couldn't print the tickets. At check-in, the agent found only three out of four names written in her book and told me I wasn't booked, requiring me to pay again. Fortunately, I showed her my email confirmation, which resolved the issue. It's concerning that in this digital age, such problems can occur, adding unnecessary stress before the cruise. Aside from that, the evening cruise was lovely, and the musician provided fantastic entertainment throughout. The sea was a bit rough on the way back, so I recommend bringing warm layers for the cooler evening. We didn't spot any whales or icebergs as it wasn't the right season, but that's fine since we've seen plenty living in coastal Newfoundland.
I had a wonderful experience. The musicians were incredible, and the crew was friendly and inviting. I highly recommend this tour. A special thanks to Tyler for sharing the baleen from a whale that they found.
The tour was absolutely fantastic! We witnessed numerous whales, and the crew was great. Glenn, in particular, went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable, easing my initial nerves about being on the boat. I would love to do this again!
The captain and crew were exceptional. Despite the unfavorable weather during our cruise, they made the experience worthwhile. Glen, in particular, was the friendliest person we encountered during our 10-day stay on the island. If you're searching for a tour in St. John's, this is the one to choose.
The tour guides were excellent, making for a fun experience. We were thrilled to see at least four whales, with some coming within just 10 meters. Remember to bring a sweater, as temperatures are about 10 degrees cooler than in the city and it can be windy.
The cruise was a fantastic experience overall. The thoughtfully planned route maximized our chances of seeing multiple whales while providing beautiful views of St John's bay sights. The mix of fog and clear skies added a magical quality to the tour, enhancing our enjoyment. The variety of whales and birds we encountered was impressive. A highlight of the trip was the crew, who promptly ensured we had enough sunscreen, which my group had overlooked. Their sea shanties contributed to the enjoyable atmosphere. During the chillier moments, crew members distributed blankets and shared their jackets with us. They kept us informed about the best spots to view the wildlife and were knowledgeable about the local history and animals. Although we were unaware of the Screeched In experience until we were at sea, the crew graciously allowed us to participate. If you enjoy seeing unique wildlife up close while listening to lively music in a scenic setting, I strongly recommend this tour.
The staff were friendly, entertaining, and knowledgeable. Although we didn't spot any whales or icebergs, it was still a fantastic experience that I would recommend not missing.
The boat trip was very enjoyable. Although we didn’t spot any whales during our cruise, it was still a fantastic experience. We understood that whale sightings aren’t guaranteed. Nature isn’t solely for our amusement. The crew ensured that we all had an excellent time regardless. I would certainly participate again.
Traveling solo, I decided to take a boat ride to enjoy the sights and listen to some local music, which seemed pleasant. However, the crew made the experience truly enjoyable. This two-hour cruise exceeded my expectations. The singer, Chris Meyers, was fantastic, and the Newfoundland folk songs were fun rather than cheesy. They even surprised me with a 'Screeched In' ceremony! I will always look back and smile at the great time I had on this two-hour adventure. Thank you!
