  Fun and knowledgeable...

  The tour was enjoyable and informative, with Steve as our guide. We had a well-timed visit to all the stunning locations, and the lunch was delightful. The restaurant staff were friendly and welcoming.

  The full day tour of Conception Bay and the half day Outports tour were both done in vans that were adequate for the short rides but not particularly luxurious for enjoying the scenic views. Each tour featured a different guide. While both had substantial knowledge, they emphasized different aspects. The guide for the full day tour was notably more engaging, connecting with everyone on the bus and catering to individual interests. In contrast, the half day tour guide shared more about his own life and family history in Newfoundland, offering a different perspective. The atmosphere on the half day tour felt less personal, as passengers had been traveling with the driver for several days already. I generally prefer not to do bus tours in Newfoundland due to the abundance of places to stop and explore along the coastline, which tour formats often preclude. This was particularly evident on the half day tour, where we passed by the beach associated with Terry Fox’s journey but did not stop there, despite the guide mentioning the story. Instead, we visited a different beach further along. Overall, both tours had relatively well-structured itineraries considering the time and distance.

  Don't miss this day tour!

  Steve was an excellent guide who provided extensive historical insights about each stop we made. The breathtaking views of the bay and coves added to the experience, making the historical context of Newfoundland even more enlightening. The lunch we had was also fantastic and left us quite satisfied. I appreciated the lack of crowds at our photo stops, which allowed for more engagement, and Steve's knowledge was invaluable as we could ask questions. I highly recommend this day tour.

  Beware

  This is not actually a boat tour; it's a bus. If you are prone to motion sickness like I am, be ready for that—sitting in the front seat might help.

  The bus was clean, timely, and operated with care. Our driver, Steve Gosse, was friendly, humorous, and knowledgeable. I'm glad I chose to take this tour.

  Wonderful day trip, with a great scenery and a lovely driver too!

  This was my second day trip with McCarthy's Party, and I was fortunate to have the same driver, Steve, again. He made the experience more enjoyable with his singing, stories, and expertise. The scenery was stunning and absolutely worth the journey. I would strongly recommend the company, the trip, and Steve as a driver.

  Steve is one of the best Newfoundlanders you can meet. He has a lot of ways to keep the journey enjoyable.

  Excursion Around the Bay

  My mother and I are in St. John's for cancer treatment and have five weeks here. With our weekends available, we decided to explore parts of the island we hadn't seen. Ellis guided us around Conception Bay, entertaining us with jokes and stories. We enjoyed a fantastic day with a great group and captured lovely photos, including one of an iceberg near Cupids. I highly recommend this tour to others.
