Four hours, small group, hotel pickup — explore Cape Spear Lighthouse, Signal Hill, and a narrated city drive through St. John's.
This four-hour small group tour begins with pickup from your downtown St. John’s hotel. A scenic drive leads to Cape Spear Lighthouse National Historic Site, where you can explore the historic lighthouse and enjoy sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean.
The tour continues to Signal Hill National Historic Site, famous for its military significance and as the site of the first transatlantic wireless signal. Take time to visit Cabot Tower and appreciate panoramic vistas of St. John's and the harbour. The tour also includes a narrated drive through the city, allowing you to see notable landmarks like Jellybean Row, The Rooms, and the Basilica and Cathedral of St. John the Baptist.
Reviews
A fantastic way to experience the main attractions of St. John’s. Our guide, Leoniot (I hope I spelled that right), did an excellent job and demonstrated a great deal of knowledge about the region.
Keith was an excellent storyteller, and we truly enjoyed our time. Despite encountering many closed streets, it was an effective way to explore St. John quickly.
The customer service I experienced was extremely disappointing. Communication was lacking, and I found out I was removed from the tour without any notice. I received my electronic tickets for the August 10th 9am tour just a day before it was scheduled. When I arrived at the pickup spot, no bus came. I reached out to customer service and was informed that I had been removed due to overbooking. Previously, on August 8th, I was asked to switch to a 1:30pm tour, but I specified I would be sticking with the 9am tour, which they confirmed. Yet, on August 9th, I got another message asking about switching times, to which I again declined. Despite this, I was never informed that I would be taken off the 9am tour. I waited at the pickup location around 8am, but the bus did not arrive. After contacting customer service at 8:35am, I learned I was removed due to overbooking and was promised a refund, which took four days to process after my follow-up. I requested to speak with a manager but never received a callback. I will not use See Sight Tours again.
Traveling in a local's vehicle allowed us to experience many highlights of Newfoundland, including the lighthouse, Cabot Point, Jellybean Row, and the Basilica. Our host was friendly and kept us engaged throughout the journey.
The views in St. John were stunning, and we enjoyed great company with our guide while traveling in a comfortable vehicle. I would definitely recommend this experience to fellow tourists.
We arrived at the pickup location, which was only a mile from the ship, and found about ten others waiting for their small van pickups. Eventually, it was just us and one other couple when we were informed that the excursion was canceled. A couple of days earlier, we received a reminder confirming everything was on track. We only received an email about the cancellation four hours later. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. We ended up using Uber to visit the places we wanted, which turned out to be cheaper and more efficient.
We had a wonderful tour of St. John's, Newfoundland. Our guide, Keith, was excellent and shared many fascinating facts. We were able to see everything on our list. Overall, it was a fantastic experience that I highly recommend.
Quidi Vidi is a decent spot, though I find it somewhat overrated. However, the climb up Signal Hill is worthwhile, particularly if you have a knowledgeable tour guide to share the area's history.
We had a fantastic day with our driver and tour guide, Keith. His enthusiasm and pride in St. John's truly enhanced our experience. He introduced us to many interesting sites not mentioned in the tour description. Thank you, Keith, for making our day unforgettable.
I had high expectations for this outing, but the foggy and rainy weather limited visibility. That said, I understand that this can happen here. Given more time, I would have chosen a day with better weather. Keith, our guide, was highly knowledgeable and made a great effort to uplift the mood. I especially appreciated the historical insights about WW2 and St. John’s role in it. I’m also very grateful to Keith for stopping at a drugstore so I could get some antacid, which really helped make my trip home much more comfortable.
