We frequently go on UTV tours while traveling, and this was undeniably our worst experience with a rental provider. We booked a Red Sands tour in Hurricane, Utah, through TripAdvisor. Upon arrival, we were surprised by a $1,500 hold requirement, which is at least three times higher than any hold we've encountered in over a dozen UTV rentals nationwide. We inquired about it and were assured that the hold would be released immediately upon returning the vehicle. Based on our previous experiences of same-day or next-day releases, we accepted and proceeded. However, things soon took a turn for the worse. Four days later, the $1,500 was still not returned. After contacting our bank, we learned that it wasn’t processed as a typical hold but rather as a full transaction followed by a refund, leaving us waiting longer for our funds. Reaching out to customer service directed us to Courtney, who works remotely. The interaction was frustrating; she interrupted us frequently, showed little willingness to listen, and offered no real assistance, instead blaming our bank. There was a complete lack of ownership and accountability. Furthermore, the hold wasn't released the same day as promised, it was processed late the following day, and it clearly wasn’t handled as a proper authorization hold. While I understand the need for a deposit, what is unacceptable is the unusually high amount, lack of transparency about the processing, and inadequate customer support when issues arise. This comes off as misleading at best, and at worst, indicative of poor internal procedures that adversely affect customers financially. The only positive aspect of our experience was our guide, Nick, who was professional, friendly, and the sole part of the company that met expectations. In summary, due to the excessive deposit, lack of transparency, and poor customer service, I can't recommend this company. There are many other UTV operators in the area, and I strongly advise looking elsewhere.
I just wrapped up an overnight tour with Mad Moose, and it was an incredible experience. They handled everything seamlessly, the equipment was excellent, the scenery stunning, and the guides were exceptional. I attended with a group of 35 for business, and I strongly recommend this trip for team-building or as a family escape.

This was an unforgettable adventure. We booked three UTVs with guides Blake, Rob, and Dan, who were fantastic. My family rated it as our best adventure ever. I highly recommend going with the guides to fully experience the stunning parts of southern Utah. They expertly provided an exceptional experience without fail. If you schedule a tour near sunset, it’s breathtaking, but don’t forget a jacket as the temperatures can drop quickly.

We enjoyed stunning views, navigated trails, rock crawled, and explored the sand dunes, all without feeling hurried, thanks to his familiarity with the area.
