Three hours by mini-bus — explore Skagway’s highlights and the picturesque White Pass Summit with ample photo opportunities.
This three-hour mini-bus tour begins as your cruise ship docks in Skagway. You’ll drive along the Klondike Highway, stopping at significant landmarks like the Gold Rush Cemetery, Skagway Scenic Overlook, and the iconic 'Welcome to Alaska' sign. With a smaller group size averaging 24 passengers, there's more opportunity for interaction with the guide and plenty of chances for photo stops.
Guides will assist in capturing memorable group photos at various points along the route. Make sure to have your valid passport, as it is required for the tour. Expect a thoughtful exploration of the area's history and scenery.

This shore excursion was fantastic! Our guide Garet was professional, knowledgeable, and very informative. He even took most of the group back to the pier. It was truly a wonderful experience. I also want to thank Sam, the manager, for being so helpful with my reservation. Southeast Tours is outstanding.
We opted for the small bus tour instead of the train because it followed the same route but allowed us to stop at key attractions. We got to visit a suspension bridge and enjoy some tasty bison chili, and we also took a photo at the "Welcome to Alaska" sign. Initially, I was uncertain about our tour guide's appearance, but Andrew turned out to be excellent. He provided a thorough tour of Skagway before we ascended the mountain towards the Yukon. He stopped at several fantastic locations and was very patient and helpful with everyone on the bus. Andrew shared stories about his life working in Alaska during the summer and took photos for guests upon request. His knowledge of historical details showed that he was well-prepared. His driving was impressive, and when our tour concluded, he offered to drop us off in town or take us back to our ship directly. I highly recommend this tour and Andrew as a guide. We also enjoyed visiting the hardware store in town, and the Klondike doughboy was a great stop—it's a big, delicious cinnamon sugar pastry for just $8, an excellent deal for food in Alaska.
The history and stories of Skagway were fascinating and vibrant. Our guide Mike delivered them genuinely, without any exaggeration. The views were stunning, and the minibus was very comfortable.
Choosing this tour instead of the White Pass train was a great decision. We were able to see a lot more with multiple stops at different locations. Our guide Beverley was outstanding.
Garrett made for an excellent guide, sharing plenty of fascinating stories and insights. The views were spectacular, and the mini-bus was very comfortable.
This was an excellent trip that offered great value compared to other excursions. Our driver Gareth was both informative and entertaining. We made numerous stops for views and photos that the train did not provide, including a nice break by the lake and waterfall at Pitchfork.
This tour is incredibly comprehensive and comes highly recommended. We were fortunate to spot a black bear, and the scenery was breathtaking. Our guide was very friendly.
We booked this last minute to fill our time in Skagway after our walking tour, and it exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend it for the stunning photo opportunities and beautiful scenery. While I'm sure all their guides are great, requesting Beverly would be ideal; she made our experience unforgettable with her kindness and engaging storytelling about the area's history. The small bus accommodated 14 people, creating an intimate atmosphere. This tour is perfect for families, couples, or anyone wanting to enjoy extraordinary views in Skagway.
Finding the tour guide was straightforward, and having them right at our port was very convenient. Our bus driver, Beverly, was quite knowledgeable, sharing Skagway's history and interesting details during our journey. We did experience some windy conditions, which was noted as typical for the area. The highlight for us was reaching the Welcome to Alaska sign, which provided stunning views on the way. Beverly mentioned that the city typically boards up the sign in winter, but we were fortunate as it was already being dismantled. We would certainly recommend this experience to anyone visiting!
This experience was much better than taking the train. We visited the Gold Rush cemetery and the falls, making several stops to admire the stunning scenery. Our guide, Beverly, was both informative and enjoyable.
