The salmon bake was enjoyable, but there were many bones in the fish. The transportation was provided by an old school bus. My last visit to Liersville was more enjoyable, and there was less to see this time. It seemed that many visitors had already left since we were near the end of the season.
The pickup from the ship was handled exceptionally well, taking us straight to the site. After the program and some successful gold panning, we enjoyed a wonderful dinner with salmon and various sides.
Visiting the site where the early gold miners lived was quite interesting. The entertaining show and enjoyable gold panning added to the experience. The meals were delicious, featuring salmon and chicken along with side dishes and cake.
We had an enjoyable experience. Our driver, Vincent, was friendly and had a wealth of knowledge. The lunch was satisfying, and the entertainment was excellent.
The guide was excellent. I believe there should be an option to leave a review without needing to write a lengthy response.
The food was just average, and the show felt a bit cheesy. The gold mining experience was enjoyable but felt rushed and could have used more time. My kids needed more time, but the staff hurried them back to the bus. I appreciate their friendliness, but I would have preferred more time for mining and less for eating.
The buffet left much to be desired, with the salmon being undercooked. The entertainment was disappointing. The highlight of the experience was definitely the bus driver.
The Salmon Bake experience, offered through NCL Cruise Line, was exceptional. This family-run operation provided unlimited delicious food, including slow-smoked salmon, caesar salad, baked beans, potato casserole, rice, cornbread, and cake for dessert. Everything was organized perfectly, and the all-you-can-eat option was fantastic. They also had a shop for souvenirs and a full bar. The live music added to the enjoyment of the day. We would definitely do this excursion again.
After being picked up at the dock, we were taken to an outdoor camp near town where we enjoyed an entertaining performance filled with storytelling, singing, and fun. We learned to pan for gold and nearly everyone discovered a few small flakes. Following that, we headed to the buffet pavilion for a delicious salmon meal accompanied by salads, sides, and cake. It was a bit chilly in September, but everyone had a great time.
I had a wonderful time discovering the Klondike gold rush through engaging entertainment in Liarsville. The gold panning was enjoyable, allowing everyone to find and keep their own gold pieces. The buffet offered delicious barbecued salmon and chicken, accompanied by coleslaw, Caesar salad, potatoes, rice, pickles, and beetroot, with cake for dessert. Overall, it was a delightful afternoon in Liarsville, Skagway, Alaska.
