We had an outstanding hike that was both informative and enjoyable, capped off with a serene float. We spotted various mushrooms and two bald eagles along the way. Rachel, our tour guide, was knowledgeable, patient, and very helpful. She even took us back to our cruise afterward. Thank you, Rachel, for such a wonderful experience!
Troy, our guide, was exceptional—knowledgeable, friendly, and very professional. He kept us engaged throughout the adventure. The hike was impressive, and the rafting experience was thrilling, with Troy clearly enjoying every moment.
We enjoyed an amazing day hiking and rafting. The Chilkoot trail hike with Joe was both informative and breathtaking. We encountered wildlife unique to the area, despite living in a forest. The hike was active but manageable with the right clothing. The river float allowed us to relax and appreciate Joe's insights. Overall, it was a fantastic four-hour experience.
On Tuesday, September 9th, 2025, I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. Our guide, Danny, was exceptional—having grown up in Skagway, he shared countless stories and provided a wealth of knowledge on every inquiry. The weather was ideal; cool without any rain. Be prepared to exert yourself during the first half of the hike, and sturdy footwear is essential. The lush forest was stunning. Remember to grab anything you may need from your backpack before boarding the raft, as all bags will be stored in a large container. The float was both beautiful and peaceful. Having two different components for the excursion was just perfect. Thank you very much!
The hike and rafting were fantastic, and the scenery was stunning. However, it may be more challenging for individuals with limited mobility or those who are overweight.
The trail was easy to navigate, although there were some rock steps that might pose a challenge for elderly individuals or those with mobility issues. Aside from that, I had a great time exploring the trail and searching for fungi with Shaggy. The float at the end was a delightful way to wrap up the hike.
A pleasant brief hike. Our guide, Dominic, was both amusing and knowledgeable. The float was brief, but it offered lovely views and a great experience. I would suggest this tour.
The initial segment of the 2-mile hike is challenging but achievable for those with a reasonable fitness level. Our guide, Dom, was both informative and polite. We gained insights into various types of mushrooms, berries, and other flora in the rainforest. The return raft float to our starting location was enjoyable, and we spotted eagles and other wildlife along the way.
Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed the Hike and Float tour from Skagway in June 2025, and much of that was due to the outstanding care from Bob and Rachel. Rachel was an excellent driver—friendly and approachable—who made sure we had water while also looking out for our safety and needs. On both the trail and the water, Bob was an exceptional guide with captivating ice-blue eyes and a deep reservoir of knowledge that kept us engaged throughout the experience. He shared fascinating stories about the local history and plants while ensuring we maintained a comfortable pace. We particularly valued his clear and honest safety instructions, which kept our two younger daughters safe and instilled complete confidence in his calm yet watchful approach. Having Bob as our guide truly enhanced our adventure, as his enthusiasm for the wilderness created lasting memories for our entire family.
The experience was exactly as described. Our guides, Danny and Calvin, really enhanced the trip. Danny, a lifelong resident, shared his extensive knowledge and provided a fascinating science and botany lesson with a great sense of humor. Calvin, although in training, was also knowledgeable, kind, and entertaining. It was a lot of fun. The hike is strenuous for someone in their 60s like me, but definitely manageable if you are fit.
