This small group boat tour offers a 2.5-hour exploration of Sitka's rugged coastline, part of the expansive Tongass National Rain Forest. Expect to encounter diverse wildlife including sea lions, sea otters, bald eagles, and various shorebirds, with promising chances of spotting gray and humpback whales, as well as the occasional orca. Throughout the summer months, sightings of deer, seals, and even brown bears feeding on salmon become increasingly likely.
The tour is flexible, with opportunities to visit waterfalls where salmon can be seen leaping up the falls when conditions allow. At the end of your tour, you’ll return to the departure point, with the last tour of the day dropping off at the cruise ship terminal, if the captain permits.

This was an incredible tour on a small boat that allowed for intimate wildlife encounters. Our guide Brad was very informative and took us directly to locations where we could see bears and sea lions closely. The whale sightings were certainly the pinnacle of our experience. The small boat made it feel like a private tour, eliminating the hassle of competing for the best photo spots. I would absolutely choose this tour again if I return to Sitka.
