We booked a wildlife tour on the water, but the captain failed to arrive. There was no communication from anyone, and we couldn’t arrange for another captain or boat. We are very disappointed and would appreciate some credit for a future booking.
This was an excellent small group tour with a wonderful guide. Capn Mike's humor and empathy made the experience enjoyable, and he was attentive to our interests. Having a local share genuine insights was invaluable. Despite the rainy weather, we were fortunate enough to view humpbacks and sea otters in a unique way.
The guide was very flexible in meeting our preferences, and we were able to see everything we wanted, including sea otters, seals, and whales.
We really enjoyed our trip, although the boat was quite small. We spotted some sea otters in the bay and saw a few humpback whales. The truly memorable part was seeing the brown bears close to the hatchery.
Our tour with Maureen was fantastic! We observed numerous whales, and she shared an incredible amount of knowledge. Thank you!
Absolutely fantastic experience! Our tour guide was exceptional, and we were fortunate to have him for our whale watching adventure. His expertise helped us make the most of it. Highly recommend!
I was fortunate to have the entire tour to myself. Dave demonstrated an impressive knowledge of the area and made for an excellent guide. Thank you.
I find the reviews puzzling. Upon arriving at the meeting point, we boarded a boat that had only 6 passengers. There were no seats; the captain mentioned we could sit on two ice chests. The boat was open with roof coverage, but I felt uneasy as the captain sped over the water with older individuals aboard in the rain. As a boat owner myself, I would drive differently for safety. It was evident this was a small fishing boat, typically used for fishing trips. I rated it three stars because the captain made a genuine effort to locate whales, but his approach to safety and consideration for the passengers was concerning.
We had a fantastic boat ride with Captain Brody in Sitka. He provided plenty of local insights while we enjoyed the beautiful scenery. The boat was comfortable, with an indoor cabin for our small group. We saw bald eagles, otters, and seals, though the humpback whale stayed hidden from us this time. Hopefully, we'll have better luck next time.
Jared was friendly and inviting. We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon with him searching for whales, otters, sea lions, and more.
