The guide we had was exceptional. Having previously enjoyed a kayaking trip to see the dolphins with him, we were thrilled he was leading this tour as well. This half-day afternoon experience, just for the two of us and our guide, allowed us to visit local villagers creating rice noodles, whisky, and the traditional bamboo sticky rice dish, along with a brick factory. It was truly fascinating.
The trip was fantastic. Yesterday, we went with Sokra to see the dolphins and were fortunate to be mostly alone on the water, spotting several groups of these rare freshwater dolphins. It was a unique experience. The atmosphere along the Mekong was particularly lovely with the many islets in the background. We learned much about Cambodia and came away with new insights. It was an amazing day, capped off by a spectacular sunset over the Mekong.
The half-day tour was wonderful. Our guide was very kind and shared many interesting anecdotes. We gained insights into Cambodian culture while visiting the sticky rice factory, dolphin tour, rice wine distillery, and mountain pagoda. I celebrated my birthday on this tour and felt truly fortunate to experience so much on this special day. I highly recommend it.
We enjoyed an incredible half-day dolphin spotting tour in Kratie. After arriving in town without a plan, we met Mr. City, who was very helpful in arranging our river trip for the same day. We left our hotel around 2 pm, and our guide Ben picked us up. He was friendly and provided us with detailed information about the dolphins, answering all our questions. We spent about an hour observing the dolphins before visiting an island on the Mekong to relax and take photos. The experience was outstanding, and I highly recommend this tour to everyone.
The tour was excellent, featuring a local guide and an air-conditioned vehicle that made exploring the city enjoyable, especially in the hot weather. It's unfortunate how Covid impacted the area and halted investments in constructions. However, the locals were very welcoming, and we loved visiting the market. Our guides showed great pride in their hometown, and they were very accommodating to our preferences.
It was an authentic glimpse into the daily life of the Cambodian area, ranging from the fishing village to the temple and market.
We were met at the cruise terminal and then headed to a fishing village. Our guide was quite knowledgeable, and he took us to a more peaceful temple in the countryside, which was breathtaking. He was an excellent guide throughout the day. We also visited a market, where he assisted us in navigating the busy roads.
Having already taken a cruise line tour the previous day, Jan and Mr. K skillfully adapted our itinerary for a personalized experience. Jan's excellent English and knowledge enhanced the day. We visited the SOKHA hotel and beach, enjoying drinks by the pool, though there was a $20 per person charge for the amenities, which was worth it. We then requested to go to the Independence Hotel, where we had a delightful lunch at the Sunset Restaurant, accessed via 97 steps, and got to take photos of the Macaque monkeys. Lastly, we explored the central market, where we admired local products and made purchases.
