Reviews
The cooking lessons were excellent. We had commentary at Seafood and Pepper restaurant, learned from a skilled cook, and enjoyed delicious dishes made with high-quality ingredients.
The setup of the class was disappointing, as it took place at restaurant tables with limited cooking hobs. The instructor provided little information about the ingredients or their significance in achieving flavors. There was no guidance on proportions or explanations for the timing and importance of adding each ingredient. With only two hobs available, there were long periods of inactivity. If you're looking for a unique dining experience, it might suffice, but for those interested in learning about food culture and cooking methods, it's best to avoid this.
Our day with Sa Roun was fantastic. The cooking class added so much to our experience in Kampot and sparked our enthusiasm for making Khmer food at home. The ingredients were excellent, and there was an overwhelming amount of food—we even had to take leftovers with us. I would definitely recommend this to anyone coming to Kampot.
The staff was outstanding and incredibly patient. You choose a dish from the menu, prepare it yourself, and then enjoy your meal. This has been one of the best-value excursions my partner and I have experienced.
I had the fortunate experience of a private class. The instructor was friendly and provided great assistance, thoroughly explaining the food and its ingredients. I enjoyed myself immensely, and the food was truly tasty.
I had an amazing experience and gained a wealth of knowledge about Cambodian ingredients and cooking methods. They responded to all my inquiries about Prahok, which has quickly become a favorite of mine in Cambodia. We prepared several delicious dishes that highlighted the renowned Kampot green peppercorns, with a menu that allows you to select based on your preferences. The staff was accommodating and patient throughout. I'm grateful for the valuable lessons!
This experience was fantastic and truly worth the money. The chef spoke excellent English, was humorous, and had a wealth of knowledge. There were various dishes to choose from, accommodating all dietary preferences, and the fish amok was exceptional.
The cooking class was fantastic, led by a delightful host. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience, and the food exceeded my expectations. A glass of Chardonnay complemented my selected dishes perfectly.
I had a fantastic experience during my cooking class with Sopheap, who provided a personalized 1-on-1 session since I was the only attendee. She taught me to prepare Mango Salad, Curry Chicken, and Pumpkin Custard, and even attempted some carrot flower decoration, though I struggled with that. Sopheap was knowledgeable, entertaining, charming, and an excellent host. I highly recommend this for a fun and interactive evening while learning new skills.
We truly enjoyed selecting our favorite dishes from the menu, preparing them, and then savoring our creations. It was fascinating to work with fresh ingredients, and we learned some valuable tips along the way. This experience included a substantial three-course meal, which I highly recommend.
