Begin the tour with a cup of local chai (tea) at a shop nearby. Following this, visit the historic Viceregal Lodge, once the residence of British Viceroys in India, which now accommodates the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies. • Next, head to Green Valley, known for its stunning scenery, surrounded by lush hills and snow-capped mountains. You may also see yaks grazing in the area. • Visit Jakhoo Temple, located on the highest point in Shimla, Jakhoo Hill. This temple, dedicated to the monkey God Hanuman, provides expansive views of Shimla. • The Sankat Mochan Temple, established in 1950 and devoted to Hanuman, is also situated in a beautiful location and is a popular site to visit. • Explore a temple complex featuring elaborate multi-tiered designs and an underground sanctuary, honoring the Hindu Goddess Vaishno Devi. • Located near the Viceregal Lodge, this Bird Park attracts nature enthusiasts with its wide array of exotic and rare birds. • The Ridge is the main area and cultural center of Shimla. Key landmarks include a neo-Gothic church from 1844 and a Tudorbethan library. • A visit to Shimla is incomplete without the Mall. Built during colonial times, the Mall is positioned just below the Ridge and is lined with colorful shops, making it a lively destination. • Kufri, Fagu Valley (2 hours) Kufri is approximately 12 miles from Shimla, with a drive time of about an hour. At Kufri, explore the Himalayan Zoo, which features rare antelopes, felines, and birds. In winter, Kufri is a favored skiing location. Once the tour concludes, you will be returned to the fixed point or your hotel.
