• Jakhu Temple is a historic temple dedicated to the Hindu deity Hanuman. According to legend, a severe arrow struck Lakshmana, Lord Rama's brother, during the battle against Ravana. To save him, Hanuman flew to the Himalayas to procure the Sanjeevani herb but, unable to identify it, he uprooted the mountain and returned with it to aid Lakshmana. • Annandale is a tranquil spot in Shimla, known for its beautiful views, a golf club, an Indian Army Museum, and a Cactus museum. It served as a leisure area for the British prior to independence and is a key attraction in Shimla. The playground is circular in shape and hosts parades, army events, sports, and festivals like Dushhera, appealing to cricket and polo enthusiasts. • The Ridge is located near Mall Road, the primary shopping hub of Shimla. Important sites such as Lakkar Bazaar, Mall, Scandal Point, and Jakhu Hill are accessible from the Ridge. Constructed in 1845 by Ram Charan Bhramachari, a Bengali Brahmin, on Jakhu Hill, it is one of the oldest temples in the area, highly revered by the local Hindu community. The temple was later relocated by the British to its current location. It is dedicated to Goddess Kali, referred to locally as 'Shyamala', from which the name Shimla is derived. The original temple honored goddess Shyamla and was transformed into Kali Bari by Bengali devotees. • Vice Regal Lodge, also referred to as Rashtrapati Niwas, is situated on Observatory Hills in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. Once the residence of British Viceroy Lord Dufferin, it is considered one of the premier attractions in Shimla. Designed by architect Henry Irwin, it was constructed in the Jacobethan style during Lord Dufferin's tenure. • Christ Church Shimla is the second oldest church in North India. Its impressive structure and prime location contribute to its status as a key destination in Shimla. Founded in 1844 in the neo-gothic style by J.T. Boileau, it was consecrated after 1857 and is prominently located on The Ridge, marking it as a significant landmark in the area.
