What's the itinerary?+
• Pickup will be arranged from your hotel, followed by a drive to Christ Church, where the walk begins. Christ Church is the second church established in North India. Constructed in the neo-gothic architectural style, this striking white building serves as a significant marker in Shimla and features beautiful stained glass windows. • As you walk along the Mall, you will notice the gothic architecture of Gaiety Theater, a heritage site that includes an exhibition hall and an art gallery in addition to the original theater space. You will walk by the colonial-style General Post Office, a timber-framed structure among six heritage post offices in India. Also noteworthy is the wooden facade of 'Bantony', which contains the local police station. You will pass by the former Imperial Bank, the Railway Board building made of cast iron and steel, and the striking red-stone chalet-like Gorton Castle. A few historic homes, such as Kennedy House and Knockdrin, will also catch your eye. • The walk concludes at the impressive Viceregal Lodge, once the residence of British Viceroys in India, which now hosts the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies. Following the walk, you can enjoy lunch (at your own cost) at a nearby restaurant. After lunch, you will be returned to your hotel.
