The architecture throughout the city features Tudorbethan and neo-Gothic styles dating back to colonial times. The heritage walk initiates at Christ Church, positioned on the western slope of Jakhu Hill, extending east toward the Viceregal Lodge. Shimla boasts many attractions, with popular spots like The Mall and The Ridge located centrally. Most of the city's heritage structures maintain their original Tudorbethan architecture, including the former Viceregal Lodge, now home to the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, and Wildflower Hall, currently a luxury accommodation. During the walk, your guide will point out several historic buildings such as Gaiety Theatre, General Post Office, Imperial Bank, Railway Board Building, Gorton Castle, Knockdrin, Kennedy Cottage, Cecil Hotel, and Viceregal Lodge, each showcasing unique architectural styles and rich histories. Your guide will share various facts and historical anecdotes about these old buildings while you appreciate the scenic nature walk. The walk concludes at the Indian Institute of Advanced Study.
