What an incredible experience! We spotted numerous whales, including bubble screen feeding by over ten humpback whales. The food served was quite satisfying as well.
We had a fantastic day filled with wildlife encounters, spotting five humpbacks, two pods of orcas, various seals, Dall's porpoises, two kinds of puffins, sea otters, and a bald eagle. Additionally, we enjoyed amazing close views of two glaciers. The boat captain was both entertaining and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this experience.
We had an incredible experience with stunning views of the glaciers and wildlife in the national park. I would certainly choose to do this again.
The crew was highly knowledgeable, attentive, and cheerful. The captain ensured we spotted the marine life and provided explanations about each glacier. We enjoyed the dinner cruise, and the burrito was satisfying. It’s advisable to take Dramamine just in case, as the waves were somewhat choppy.
The meal listed on the website included options like salmon, short ribs, or a vegan/gluten-free dish. Instead, we received a salad, burrito, and chocolate torte. While the food was tasty, it was quite disheartening to learn about the change upon check-in. The staff and crew were excellent, and the glaciers and views were stunning.
We participated in the final dinner cruise of the season. The captain was friendly and knowledgeable, providing interesting information without overwhelming us. He aimed for the best spots to see wildlife and patiently waited for a whale to resurface, which reportedly was a rarity since we were the only tour that saw one. We also enjoyed views of sea lions and stunning rock formations, while the glaciers were impressive. Additionally, we followed a small pod of porpoises for a while. The staff was welcoming and eager to please. However, I must mention the food was quite disappointing. When we booked, we selected from three dinner options: salmon, braised short ribs, or a vegetarian dish. Upon boarding, we were informed that a burrito dinner would be served instead. What we received was a salad made up of mostly twig-like lettuce served with vinegar and an odd combination of hummus. It was followed by almost inedible, overheated burritos filled with mystery meat and stale Tostito chips with salsa. There was no explanation for the change from our ordered meal. Given the ticket price of $204 per person, excluding drinks, I expected the meal chosen when purchasing the ticket. Unfortunately, we finished late and could not address the issue with the tour company as they were closing. Just a heads up for those considering this meal cruise—the food quality is lacking, though the scenery is definitely worthwhile.
We took the last dinner cruise of the season and were excited about our meal choices, particularly the salmon and a beef or pork dish. However, we were served chicken burritos with chips and salsa, which was disappointing. The appetizer was a salad, and dessert was a piece of cake, but drinks were not included, which felt unjustified given the tour's price. It was frustrating that the staff seemed unfazed by this mix-up, especially since we had been promised a better meal, and no compensation was offered. Some guests even left before the cruise departed due to this. Additionally, the captain's narration was disorganized; he often paused for long stretches and struggled to maintain a coherent flow. Another crew member took over later and was far more engaging. While the views and glaciers were spectacular, the issues with the food and commentary were significant letdowns, and it would be beneficial for the company to address these concerns for future seasons. One server mentioned that it might have been a supply issue, but we were not informed of this prior to our trip or during the cruise.
The cruise had its moments, with stunning glaciers and some wildlife, but the dinner experience was extremely disappointing. We had expected crab cakes, salmon, and beef ribs, but instead, we received a basic salad without dressing and a prepackaged burrito with chips and salsa. While it was edible, it hardly resembled what was advertised or what we paid for. There was no prior notice or apology; it felt as if they treated the situation as normal despite us choosing specific entrees during booking. When we inquired, a crew member cited supply chain issues but failed to offer anything remotely close to our original choice. Instead of a premium dining experience, we ended up with something comparable to fast food, and the response we received from another crew member felt dismissive. While the boat tour itself was enjoyable and the seating ample, the overall dinner cruise was a significant letdown. It would have been appreciated if they had communicated the changes with us beforehand and provided a discount. The narrator's delivery was also subpar, often pausing in the middle of sentences and losing coherence. We regretted booking the dinner cruise.
The cruise was fantastic and definitely worth it. The staff were very friendly, and we saw some incredible wildlife. The destination was stunning, and the food was tasty as well.
It was a windy day during our trip, making the ride somewhat bumpy. The cabin is enclosed, but also has an area to step outside if desired. The restroom is located on the deck at the back of the boat, conveniently just outside the door. The crew was both professional and attentive. We had a chicken quesadilla for dinner instead of the original menu item, but we were informed beforehand and had the option to cancel. The commentary was engaging, and the close-up views of the glacier were impressive. We didn't spot any wildlife, but that may be due to the rocky and steep shoreline. Be prepared for the 6-hour duration, as it requires a commitment to relax.
