Reviews
This was an exceptional adventure! We saw otters, puffins, whales, glaciers, including calving glaciers, and sea lions—so many incredible sights! The ride was enjoyable and comfortable, and Captain Mike along with the NJ crew were knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend it.
This tour was the best part of our visit to Seward. The entire experience was fantastic and I highly recommend it. Booking was seamless, accommodating a change in our dates for better weather without any issues. Check-in was friendly and efficient. The captain and her all-female team provided excellent care and tailored the tour to highlight a calving glacier and a super pod of whales. While the lunch was underwhelming, it wasn't a major concern for us.
It was an incredible experience that was absolutely worth it. Just be ready for a ride as the waves can rock the boat. The beauty of nature, the wildlife, and the scenery were all stunning.
It was an incredible experience, and the crew provided detailed explanations about everything we encountered. I gained a lot of knowledge about topics I previously knew nothing about.
I strongly recommend this experience. We encountered whales, sea lions, mountain goats, and a glacier that is melting. The crew was excellent. One tip: take seasickness medication and focus on the horizon when the waters become choppy.
The crew was outstanding, being very friendly and attentive throughout the journey. The captain frequently pointed out wildlife, including orcas, seals, sea lions, an eagle, and even an otter, ensuring we had plenty of opportunities to observe them. I appreciated the drink offer: for $12, a souvenir cup provided unlimited refills of soda, coffee, and tea. At the conclusion of the trip, we enjoyed freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, which was a delightful surprise. However, lunch was somewhat disappointing—just a burrito and chips. For such a lengthy cruise, a hot meal option, like soup or some protein, would have been ideal. I also faced connectivity issues since I work remotely; being without a signal for six hours was stressful. Having Wi-Fi on the boat, even for a fee, would be beneficial. The highlight was seeing the glacier up close, and the crew even brought a piece of glacier ice on board for us to touch and use in our drinks. Overall, it was a wonderful experience that I would highly recommend, but make sure to dress warmly as it can be quite windy on the water.
The captain and crew provided a fantastic experience on the 6-hour Classic Kenai Fjords Park Tour. The Aialik Voyager was comfy, even in the rain. While animal sightings can be less frequent in early September, we were lucky to see a humpback whale, along with sea otters, sea lions, mountain goats, jellyfish, and various birds. The cloudy weather enhanced the stunning blue hues of the glaciers. Be aware that seasickness might occur during rough seas, particularly on the 25-minute crossing; opting for outdoor seating on the first level is advisable. If you've had issues with seasickness before, it might be wise to take medication in advance.
The views were stunning, and the crew was not only experienced but also exceptionally kind. They congratulated us on our recent marriage, which made the trip even more special. We even spotted orcas!
The experience is largely influenced by the weather. Our 6-hour cruise, which should have featured glacier views, lasted only 4 hours with no sights to see. We essentially paid $250 each for a rough boat ride and a burrito. The crew was excellent, and I have no issues there, but whether it's worth it really depends on the weather conditions.
You should absolutely take this cruise. The Captain and crew are fantastic. Just make sure to pack plenty of extra layers and rain gear.
