Reviews
This tour offered a great mix of sightseeing, history, and folklore. I strongly recommend it, especially for those visiting the park for the first time.
Our morning on this tour was fantastic. We gained great insights into the history of Cades Cove and spotted wildlife like wild horses and a mother bear with her cubs. The van was comfortable, and our driver, whose name I can't recall, was both kind and humorous. I highly recommend this experience.
The guide was wonderful and friendly. The scenery was stunning. It was a fantastic experience and a tour that should not be missed. The driver also made additional stops. I would do it again.
Buford and Squirrel made for excellent guides. Buford's historical knowledge combined with his humor, along with Squirrel's support, resulted in a truly enjoyable experience. I highly recommend this tour.
The tour guide was excellent and offered great tips. I enjoyed the trip, but I hoped to see a bear. I plan to return for another chance to spot one.
The guide was friendly and well-informed, which made for a great experience. We enjoyed ourselves a lot, and the bus was both comfortable and pleasant.
I cannot recommend this tour. The van lacked air conditioning, we weren't given headsets, and it didn’t feel like a guided experience. We had to rely on our phones to get information about the tour.
The drive through the Smoky Mountains was lovely and provided a peaceful way to explore the region. We encountered deer, turkeys, and even a bear.
Our tour guide lacked knowledge about Cade's Cove, failing to provide the promised in-depth commentary on its wildlife, history, and Cherokee heritage. He didn’t even introduce himself during the 8 am tour on April 24, 2026, and couldn’t answer basic questions, including when the first settlers arrived—guessing the 1800s. One member of our group fell while exiting the shuttle, and he didn’t bother to check on her, making an inappropriate joke instead. It was disappointing to learn nothing new despite my prior visits to the cove. Instead, the guide shared anecdotes about his ice cream truck and brought us to a retail area for shopping, which felt unnecessary. We even waited while he went to a gas station for coffee. Overall, I was left very dissatisfied with the experience and request a full refund of the $80 I spent. My contact number is 504-554-4667 if you wish to follow up.
My friends and I anticipated the Cades Cove trip, especially since one of us had previously enjoyed it. The scenery was beautiful, with wildlife and historic buildings, but the tour guide's performance was disappointing. He didn't introduce himself, stayed seated the whole time, and left us to struggle with the van door, which even got stuck at one point. With only six participants, it would have been manageable if not for the guide's lack of engagement. We weren’t sure if we were supposed to have an hour for shopping after the tour, and we made an unexpected stop for him to grab coffee, which seemed inappropriate. On one occasion, we returned to find him asleep in the vehicle. The commentary often lacked relevance to the tour and included inaccuracies, despite one friend having park experience. We even overheard inappropriate personal comments, including remarks about his Mister Softee truck and offers for another tour. After one mishap where I fell exiting the van, he dismissed it without concern. My friends and I left feeling disappointed. I paid for two tickets and am seeking a full refund.
