Our day with Irfan as our guide was wonderful. We began by touring the Sam Po Kong Temple, followed by the impressive Lawang Sewu Building, taking our time at each location to enjoy and capture photos. After some shopping, we had a delightful Indonesian lunch in the town. We then visited the Great Mosque of Central Java and ascended the 19-story Tower for a panoramic view of the city. Our adventure wrapped up with a stroll through Old Town, where we admired the historic architecture and its vibrant mix of restaurants and shops.
We enjoyed a fantastic day in Semarang, guided by Farro, who was both entertaining and informative. He showed us several incredible sites, and the lunch we had was delightful. Thank you!
It was a wonderful experience and an effective way to explore some of the city in a short period. Although our guide and driver were relatively new to tour guiding, they put in great effort to make our time special.
Our guide greeted us as soon as we left the port. The driver was excellent and rearranged our itinerary to dodge the heavy traffic. The guide was both friendly and informative. It was an excellent way to see many sights in a limited time.
This option was far more convenient than the ship tour. We got to see the highlights of the city, including a wonderful mosque and temple. The lunch at the restaurant was tasty, and our guide was knowledgeable with strong English skills.
The tour included a brief walking exploration of the unimpressive old town, followed by visits to the big mosque and the more engaging 100 Windows Building. We had lunch at a large restaurant catering to tourists and ended at the Chinese temple. Our guide's English was adequate, definitely better than those on taxi tours. However, this tour only lasted 5 hours instead of the advertised 6. Traffic was challenging, but rain could have made it worse. Overall, this experience was not on par with our private tour in Bali. Given it was Ramadan, everyone seemed more fatigued. It might be more rewarding to explore the countryside during this port stop.
This tour offered an excellent introduction to Semarang. Olivia served as a gracious host and guide, sharing her extensive knowledge of the local area. She highlighted various historical elements, from Chinese traders to Muslim missionaries and the Dutch colonial period. The diverse architectural styles in the Old Town were captivating, and we concluded with a wonderful cup of coffee at a local café.
The tour was enjoyable, with a knowledgeable guide who shared valuable information. We appreciated the meal and every location he introduced us to.
Azhar, our private tour guide, provided an exceptional experience filled with wonderful memories and great photos. He was both professional and friendly, with excellent English skills. The lunch spot and meal choices were delicious, and the driver was also very attentive. Highly recommend.
We had a fantastic day with Uke in Semarang. The scheduled stops were great, and at my request, Uke took us to a batik fabric shop. Being able to tailor our tour was a bonus, especially while seeing large tour buses. Our lunch was excellent, featuring a variety of dishes that we thoroughly enjoyed. Experiencing a local meal was a highlight. Opting for this private tour is highly recommended, and having Uke as your guide along with Mr. Y-U as your driver will make it even better.
