Exploring the rice fields was a wonderfully rejuvenating experience. The scenery is stunning, enveloped by verdant surroundings and peaceful forests. Our driver, Arma, provided excellent guidance. It was a perfect getaway from the hustle of the city.
Avoid signing up for this trip. It appears that the original company has been compromised, no longer operates, and someone is taking people's money. I lost money on this today after booking through TripAdvisor, and nobody showed up. My hotel attempted to reach all the numbers linked to the company, but there was no response. They even contacted a friend who worked there, who confirmed that the account has been hacked. It's unfortunate for the genuine company, as this selfish individual is ruining it.
The views are stunning, and the information provided by my guide was quite engaging. He was also very supportive throughout the experience. I really enjoyed the day.
I had a wonderful day with my guide, Mas Deny. He was friendly, attentive, and made the experience enjoyable and easy. We visited a breathtaking waterfall with a fantastic view of Mount Merapi in the background. After that, we stopped at a charming coffee shop in the rice fields, where the coffee was excellent, accompanied by a spectacular view of the fields. We also explored the historic Selogriyo temple, which felt truly special. For lunch, he selected a delightful spot with delicious food, and he captured great photos throughout the tour. I highly recommend this experience.
I enjoyed my time, but it's important to wear outdoor shoes that can get dirty. Bring an umbrella and a rain jacket just in case. We were fortunate that the rain stopped when we arrived at our next stop, but the heavy downpour made it unsafe to visit the waterfall up close. Overall, it was a positive experience with friendly locals, and our guide was excellent and spoke English well.
Our day with Arma was exceptional. The highlight was undoubtedly the hike through the stunningly green and serene rice fields. Every location we visited felt unique and somewhat isolated from the usual tourist routes. We interacted with local rice farmers and explored a coffee production site. Arma was a laid-back guide, providing us with insightful information about rice farming and local traditions. I suggest bringing a hat and perhaps a snack. It's a highly recommended experience.
