I've had some great tour drivers, but Viki from the Yogyakarta City Tour (Jogja Java Driver) stands out as phenomenal. His communication was excellent, reaching out via WhatsApp before my trip to ensure everything was set. Unfortunately, I fell ill and couldn't finish the planned 12-hour tour, so Viki took me back to my hotel. Despite the tour ending, he checked on me frequently to see if I needed anything. He even offered to take me to an international hospital, where he acted as my interpreter and stayed with me late into the night, providing comfort when I was at my worst. Remarkably, he didn't charge me for this extra help. His kindness and compassion made a significant impact on my solo travel experience. This city tour is absolutely worth it, not just for the sights but for the care offered by someone like Viki. After about 7-8 hours, he never rushed us back, continuously suggesting new places to explore, including a Bakpia factory filled with locals buying the tasty treats at affordable prices. Even after that visit, he offered more options to sample local cuisine. Viki is a genuinely nice and trustworthy driver, and we will certainly recommend him to everyone we know; without a doubt, reach out to Viki if you need a driver. He truly is the best.
Eko proved to be an exceptional driver, guiding us to all the sites we wanted to visit. He was attentive at each stop, helping us navigate and ensuring we understood the area before departing. It was impressive that he remembered our names throughout the day.
During our visit to Java from August 15 to 21, 2025, Viky coordinated every aspect of our trip, including temple visits and volcano hikes, and provided excellent accommodation advice. Although Viky couldn't drive us due to unforeseen circumstances, his team members, Eko and Angarra, took over and were very friendly and supportive. I highly recommend Jogja Java driver.
