This was a full day tour departing from the cruise port. The ride to the temples took around 2 hours each way, but it was absolutely worthwhile. The Prambanan temples are stunning and remarkable! We never felt hurried and had ample time to explore and appreciate the sites. I have nothing but praise for Sugi and the attentive service he offered. Following our temple visit, we enjoyed a delightful Indonesian lunch just a short drive away. On our way back to the port, the picturesque countryside made the journey feel shorter than it was. The temple was stunning and definitely a must-visit. Our guide was fantastic; he had extensive knowledge and shared numerous engaging stories. He was attentive to our needs, even offering his banana when I needed a snack due to my diabetes.
We were met at the cruise terminal by our guide Oki and the driver, who had left her home in Yogyakarta at 2:30 am to meet us. Although the journey to Prambanan was lengthy due to holiday traffic, Oki provided us with fascinating insights into the historical, cultural, and religious significance of the area. Once we arrived at the temple, she took the time to thoroughly explain every detail. Her extensive knowledge of Hinduism and its mythology was impressive. Experiencing the temple, with its intricate wall carvings and rich history, was truly special. On the return trip, she arranged for us to enjoy a delicious lunch. We are grateful for such a wonderful experience.
We had a fantastic tour of the Bourobador Temple! We didn't know it was a UNESCO site, and decided to visit instead of our originally planned temple. After making a few calls, they easily adjusted our itinerary. Our guide, Adi, was outstanding and very knowledgeable. We got our tickets and climbed to the top of the temple. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.
