The tour was divided into two parts: exploring Yogyakarta and traveling from Yogyakarta to Tumpak Sewu waterfall, Mt Bromo, and Mt Ijen, concluding at the ferry port in Java. We had an excellent experience with two fantastic guides, Atok in Yogyakarta and Dani for the remaining journey, supported well by their office. Both guides were dependable, friendly, knowledgeable, and entertaining, taking us to lovely dining spots and sharing fascinating insights about Java. All the guides and drivers we encountered were skilled and made us feel secure. Overall, it was a memorable tour featuring stunning views.
In August 2022, I traveled to Yogyakarta where I explored Borobudur, took part in a Merapi Jeep tour, visited Prambanan, explored Jomblang cave, and enjoyed the Dieng Plateau. The trip was unforgettable, largely due to our wonderful guide and driver, Widi. We were so pleased with the experience that we returned to East Java in March 2023, again with Widi. Highlights included the Tumpak Sewu waterfall, Mt. Bromo, and trekking at Ijen. Widi ensured all our needs were addressed and arranged for local guides at the waterfall and Ijen, which enhanced the experience. We finished our East Java journey with a seamless ferry ride to Bali, where we enjoyed a few relaxed days.
Our six-day tour with Amra and Dani was fantastic. They were knowledgeable about various subjects, including local history and politics, and both were very friendly and kind. We always felt safe and cared for in their company. The luxury car provided for transportation was comfortable, which was essential given the long drives across the island. Despite the less-than-ideal weather during the wet season, every aspect of the tour remained interesting and engaging. For improvement, we suggest the organization clarify meal inclusions (breakfast, lunch, dinner), provide daily guidelines in advance about what to bring (like extra clothes for swimming, appropriate shoes, towels, and information about varying physical demands), and consider offering all-inclusive meals given the price we paid. Additionally, it would be nice to have lunch or dinner at locally interesting venues, and providing take-away meals when necessary would be beneficial.
Dani, our driver and guide, proved to be an excellent companion, answering our questions about Indonesia and global politics. In addition to visiting key attractions, he introduced us to various fruits and local foods at a warung. His ability to navigate through chaotic traffic with ease was impressive in itself. I highly recommend traveling with Dani, who truly makes a positive impact wherever he goes. Despite road obstructions from a flood, he went above and beyond to ensure we reached the harbor on time. The itinerary planning was well-organized, and we received updates throughout the trip. The guides were informative, and the hotels were clean and roomy. Dany (Mohammed) stayed with us all day, displaying patience and knowledge, and he always accommodated our needs. As vegetarians, he found excellent dining options for us. The vehicle was comfortable and well-maintained.
This trip is essential for anyone wanting to explore the beauty of Java. Although the distances are long and the itinerary is packed, we were very impressed by the organization and felt well cared for from our airport pickup to the ferry drop-off. Widi and Dani, our guide and driver, ensured everything was taken care of so we could enjoy the journey without any worries. Our guide at Prambanan, Dwi, deserves special recognition for his engaging storytelling and humor, which enhanced our temple visit. One suggestion would be to provide more information in advance regarding appropriate footwear and clothing for activities, like water shoes or sturdy sandals, as you wouldn't want your flip-flops to be swept away while walking through a waterfall. We truly appreciated this fantastic holiday.
An exceptional experience from beginning to end, thanks to Dani and Widi. My girlfriend and I were well-cared for and engaged by Dani, who provided great advice on the best times and spots to visit. We also connected with local guides like Dwi, who made our time at Prambanan temple unforgettable with his expertise, communication skills, and great sense of humor. Dani was always accommodating, and we felt as if we were traveling with a friend. Highly recommended.
This tour offers an excellent opportunity to experience the stunning natural scenery of central and East Java before traveling to Bali. Each day was amazing and distinct. Our guide Hibza was exceptional—he was punctual, a safe driver, and adept at finding the perfect photo spots, while also accommodating all our last-minute requests. It was a hassle-free way to appreciate the highlights of the region.
We enjoyed three fantastic days of hiking with Deny, who was not only humorous but also provided great advice and spoke excellent English. I highly recommend him. While the trip was somewhat pricey, I believe it was worth every penny.
I booked a last-minute trip and was fortunate to have Bima as my tour guide. He prioritized my safety and helped me fully engage in the experience. If I revisit Java, I will certainly seek out any excursion he leads.
