Three to five hours by boat — observe orcas, minke whales, and seals in the Salish Sea, while enjoying scenic ocean views.
This boat tour lasts between three to five hours, navigating the waters of the Salish Sea. You'll have the opportunity to spot transient orcas, minke whales, harbor seals, and various seabirds. The route offers panoramic views of mountains and islands, enhancing the wildlife experience.
Dress for the weather and consider layers, as it can get chilly on the water. Be prepared for a rewarding combination of wildlife sightings and stunning natural scenery. Given the nature of wildlife, sightings can vary.
Reviews
It was somewhat disappointing because we didn't encounter many whales. We only saw one whale, and the time available was insufficient.
The experience was fantastic. We observed a humpback whale for around 30 minutes. Although the weather was uncertain, we returned afterward, but we were very pleased with the outing.
We were quite let down. After booking through a third party, we learned that my husband would be seated far from us, which was problematic due to his mobility issues. We had hoped to see orcas, but only spotted humpback whales, seals, and sea lions. The guide mentioned that orcas are so rare that they aren't approached at all. Their site only mentions seeing whales.
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience; it was both educational and delightful to observe wildlife in their natural environment. I strongly recommend this tour. The staff was exceptional.
The boat was quite nice, and we spotted a pod of 9-10 Orcas from two families. The naturalist was knowledgeable about each whale and shared detailed information about the adults. However, the trip involved around 90 minutes of travel each way to see the whales, and we would have liked more commentary about the communities and history of the area since it was our first time in the Northwest. More narrative would have elevated this to a 5-star experience.
Our couples getaway was truly wonderful and relaxing. The staff was friendly and helpful, clearly enjoying their work. During our five hours on the water, we were fortunate to see three groups of whales. It was a beautiful and peaceful experience.
In August, we purchased tickets for a whale watching tour in Seattle but didn’t see any whales. We received a voucher valid for a year, but as tourists from Belgium, we left the next day. After returning home, we reached out to request a partial refund and received a positive response. I completed the necessary forms and provided proof of payment and my return flight promptly. Despite several follow-up emails, the refund has not been processed, and my inquiries are being ignored. It’s disappointing as a foreign tourist to face this situation. After five months, we are still waiting.
Our trip was canceled, and we only discovered this when we arrived and saw a notice posted at the ticket window. I'm now waiting for a full refund, which is unacceptable.
The tour was cancelled without any prior notification. I only found out about the cancellation when I arrived at the pier for check-in.
The tour delivered exactly what we expected: an opportunity to observe wildlife in their natural habitat. While sightings aren't guaranteed, we were fortunate enough to see orcas and gray whales.
