What's the itinerary?+
• The Heart of the Negev desert is split into two distinct climate regions, acting as a boundary between cultivated land and the arid wilderness found south of Mitspe Ramon. On the day tour, there will be a transition between both areas. We will explore the renowned Makhtesh Ramon (Ramon Crater) for approximately 2 hours in a 4X4 vehicle, followed by a journey to the Wadi Zin region along the ancient terraces constructed by the Nabateans, which have now been replanted with vineyards by contemporary farmers. The itinerary also includes a visit to the ruins of Avedat, a Nabatean city dating back 2000 years, which is the second most significant site after Petra along the incense route (entrance fees are not included). In the vicinity of Avedat, we will hike through the Rock Engraving Park, where countless ancient petroglyphs can be found. Participants will walk through the rocky landscape, gaining insights into these works and the ancient cultures of the desert.
