Reviews
Overall, the experience felt more like a sales pitch than a tour. We had to arrive very early at 7 a.m. for a quick stop at the fog-covered Golden Gate. Next, we went to Muir Woods, where we were just dropped off at 8:30 a.m., which felt a bit harsh since nothing was open, not even the cafe. After a quick lap through the woods under rainy conditions, we proceeded to Sausalito. Here, we were left with a restaurant voucher and ferry ticket, but had to wait two hours for the ferry to return. Once we arrived in San Francisco at Pier 33 for the Alcatraz visit at 2:30 p.m., the crowds were overwhelming, as it was peak time. We didn’t see any of the group members or the driver again. Alcatraz had audio guides available, but the same was accessible for everyone with a ticket. The return was also frustrating due to long queues, and the ferry seemed to run only every 45 minutes or longer, making the return from San Francisco much smoother as it was less crowded after 4 p.m.
The trip was fantastic! Experiencing the tranquility of the park in the morning was truly remarkable. James proved to be an excellent guide. It’s a full day, but definitely worth it!
I am quite disappointed as my experience with the tour did not occur due to unexpected travel issues. I attempted to call to modify my tour, but nobody responded to provide confirmation or a refusal. It feels disrespectful that they were willing to take my money without any effort to support or acknowledge my situation.
James was punctual, friendly, and knowledgeable. He really knew what he was talking about. It was a wonderful morning experience. We arrived in the city early, which meant light traffic. I had breakfast near the pickup location and was prepared to go by 7:10 am. A fantastic morning!
James was an exceptional guide, and I couldn't have chosen better. Exploring Muir Woods was a gorgeous experience, especially without the crowds.
The redwoods were truly magnificent. The information provided was very insightful, and the Alcatraz tour was just right for the time we had.
This experience offers a wonderful way to spend your day. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and the itinerary was well-organized. It’s an excellent way to explore multiple locations in a single, effortless day.
This tour is the best option for anyone visiting San Francisco, especially with limited time. Experiencing Muir Woods and Alcatraz in one day without having to drive and with pre-purchased tickets is an absolute win. It worked out perfectly. James was an excellent driver: punctual and very friendly. You'll appreciate his strategy of visiting Muir Woods first. Why? Because the park is tranquil and stunning, nearly empty before the larger crowds arrive. Alcatraz was fantastic as well, with the flexibility to board the ferry and explore at your own pace. I highly recommend this tour.
James was an excellent tour guide, very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. The early access to Muir Woods is unmatched, providing a stunning setting for our morning. I appreciated that he had a TV on the tour bus to share some of San Francisco's history. The food at the café was not great, but walking on the Golden Gate Bridge was truly a breathtaking experience. James conveniently dropped us off right at the entrance to Alcatraz, making it easy to access the line.
Muir Woods was truly stunning, and the massive trees left us in awe. The tranquility of our walk added to the experience. Our driver, James, was very knowledgeable and provided an excellent guided tour during our travels. Brunch near The Golden Gate Bridge was delightful, and we were dropped off safely to catch the ferry to Alcatraz, which was an amazing site.
