Marine Mammal Center

The Marine Mammal Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of ill and injured marine mammals, primarily along the California coastline. Located in a serene setting in Sausalito, the center’s facility allows visitors to observe the work of marine veterinary staff caring for seals, sea lions, and other rescued animals through large viewing windows. Plan to spend about an hour to learn from informative displays and possibly see animals being treated. Late afternoons are usually quieter, making it easier to engage with staff and ask questions. The center is a short drive from the Golden Gate Bridge, adding to its accessibility.
