It was an enjoyable experience. Derek and Chad were fantastic hosts, attentive to everyone's needs. As first-time e-bike riders, we loved it! We witnessed a stunning sunset, and they were very helpful with taking photos. One note: the $5 flat rate parking mentioned in the email confirmation is not available; we found free parking close to the Spearfish Grille instead.
The sunset ride was enjoyable and engaging. We met several fascinating individuals during the tour, and our guide was courteous with a fantastic personality.
This was our second time with Derek and his company, and once again, we enjoyed a wonderful experience. Derek prioritized our safety and ensured we had a great time.
The beach sunset ride was wonderful. We enjoyed champagne when we got to the far end. Our guide ensured everyone felt comfortable and safe throughout the experience. I highly recommend this tour.
Our experience was quite disappointing. Out of the six e-bikes, five had various issues, such as malfunctioning lights, gear assist that wouldn't shift, and missing water bottle holders. I contacted the tour operator regarding these problems and the lack of promised pictures, but I never got any response. Additionally, with 20 bikers and just one guide, those toward the back often felt lost and without support.
We drove 30 minutes for a 4:30 tour last week, only to discover it was actually at 6:00 due to daylight savings. That was manageable since we had time to explore the area. However, just 20 minutes before the tour, it was canceled because of possible weather issues in Siesta Key, which was perfectly lovely. I could have overlooked that, but then they canceled again last night, 30 minutes after the tour was supposed to start. Fifteen of us were left waiting in a parking lot, ruining our final night. Communication was poor; I had called and texted earlier for confirmation and got no reply. When no one arrived at 6:00, we were unable to reach anyone, and the voicemail box was full. One guest mentioned the guide texted about being delayed due to a car accident, but half the group left, while the remaining seven of us stayed, hoping for some kind of tour since we had no backup plans. Shortly after, cancellation notices were sent out. There was no contact from the owner. To make things worse, others in our group also had wrong start times and had waited even longer, incurring high parking fees. Ultimately, one cancellation could be considered a mistake, but two is a concerning trend. The communication is inconsistent, and there's clearly no plan for these situations. After two disappointing experiences in one month and a lot of wasted time, I won’t book again.
We faced problems with four of the six e-bikes provided. Two had nonfunctional lights, one couldn't downshift, and another lacked a water bottle holder. With 20 participants, those at the back had no guide for assistance. It was a great tour, but the equipment was lacking, and there should have been a second guide to ensure everyone's safety. Additionally, we were promised photos that were never delivered. The two riders without lights had to navigate the beach in the dark without help.
I took my teenage grandson and we had an amazing time. The weather was beautiful, and the sunset was stunning. I'm planning to bring a group of friends in June!
The guide canceled on us at the last minute, completely disrupting our final day’s plans. A staff member at a different bike shop noted that he had heard similar stories before. While the explanations provided were emotional, the facts remain that this is a business transaction and I ended up feeling very dissatisfied. They offered us a chance to reschedule for the next day or a swap instead, as well as a "severely discounted rate" for next year, which we might consider. I hope to write a more positive review next time.
I cannot recommend this tour. The guide, Derek, canceled it because only two of us had signed up, and mentioned issues like a recent fire and air conditioning replacement. While unexpected events occur, I find it unacceptable that I haven't received my refund and he has stopped responding to my messages. It's been a week since the canceled tour, and I'm still trying to reach out politely for my money back. What options do I have for getting a refund?
