Erik is fantastic. I really hope he authors a local history account someday. In addition to his vast knowledge, he is humorous and engaging, particularly great with children. He allowed our older child to try solo kayaking and assisted when needed. Erik also risks his phone to capture excellent photos of participants, having lost several before. Be sure to dress in layers when you go—you may start cold and finish warm, or the other way around. He provides waterproof pouches for keys, but I suggest getting a floating lanyard for your phone that has a camera window. This was our second adventure with him, just as amazing as the first. The different season allowed us to see seals learning to swim, otters at play, and even the bobcat for the season. It’s a beautiful spot with a superb guide.
This experience exceeded our expectations. During our honeymoon in Napa and Sonoma, we wanted to engage in more than just wine tasting, so we decided to kayak on the Russian River despite the rain. We paddled around 4 miles and had an amazing time. Eric, our guide, was incredibly informative, friendly, and amusing. We were thrilled to see numerous seals approach our kayaks closely. It was truly fantastic! Plus, Eric captured memorable photos for us throughout the journey.
This kayak tour is a must if you're in the Russian River region. Eric was an excellent guide, sharing insights about various birds, trees, and wildlife throughout the journey. He also provided additional recommendations for things to do in the area. I wholeheartedly recommend this experience.
I had a wonderful experience with Erik at the Russian River's mouth. I gained a lot of knowledge about the region and its history, and enjoyed a relaxing paddle while observing local wildlife; Erik also shared great recommendations for lunch and coastal exploration.
The kayak tour on the Russian River offers a serene experience surrounded by nature, allowing participants to appreciate more than just the local wine. Erik is a friendly and knowledgeable guide who ensures that everyone, whether seasoned or beginner, feels at ease. His enthusiasm for the area's natural beauty and wildlife is evident as he shares the history of the region and its transformations over time. He possesses extensive knowledge of the local fauna and is happy to answer any questions. We were fortunate to observe many bird species, including over 70 pelicans migrating south, as well as seals curiously popping their heads up from the water. Erik knows the best places for wildlife viewing, making the experience even more memorable. This was my second tour with Erik, having previously taken one with my sister in the summer; both times were incredibly calming and a wonderful way to start the day. He captures plenty of photos during the tour and shares a link afterward, allowing you to fully enjoy the moment. This experience is a perfect alternative to the many food and wine options in the area. Taking a couple of hours to immerse yourself in nature and the company of others is truly worthwhile.
After heavy rains made the Russian River unsafe, Erik graciously switched our tour to Bodega Bay for kayaking. We encountered a lot of wildlife, and Erik shared his extensive knowledge about the area, offering recommendations for the rest of our visit. Despite the weather changes, we had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend this tour.
Experiencing the water with Erik was truly exceptional. He is a thoughtful guide with deep knowledge, making our time in this region of California memorable. After heavy rains, Erik suggested kayaking in Bodega Bay instead of the Russian River, where he led us on a tour to see harbor seals, various bird species, sea lions, and more. His enthusiasm for the local wildlife and area was contagious, and I enjoyed hearing about his global adventures. I highly recommend this experience. 10/10.
We had another wonderful morning on the Russian River with Erik. I had previously taken my father on this tour, and it was such a blast that I booked it again for friends who were visiting. It's a great way to explore the area, stay active, and observe wildlife. Highly recommend!
The local guide provided extensive knowledge about the Russian River and its surroundings, offering excellent explanations throughout the experience. It was truly incredible.
We had an excellent experience for our team offsite. The paddle was stunning, enjoyable, and calming; we even interacted with some seals while learning about local history and wildlife. Erik was a fantastic guide, and everyone in our group valued his positive energy, expertise, and friendliness. I particularly appreciated his willingness to dedicate the tour exclusively to our group and his effective communication as our group size changed. Highly recommend.
