  Easy Going and Positive Surf Experience

  The experience was very relaxed. I received great communication beforehand, and all my inquiries were addressed. On the day of the lesson, I was a bit nervous about what to expect, but the atmosphere was friendly and encouraging. It was a wonderful group and a perfect day for surfing—I had a lot of fun and made some great memories for the weekend.

  I had an incredible experience learning to surf in Santa Cruz with Enzo, Chase, and especially the wonderful Nina. Their patience, expertise, and enthusiasm were truly empowering.   One of a kind experience!

  Soren and Chase were excellent instructors who made my first surfing experience fantastic. They provided just the right amount of information and stayed near me throughout the lesson. I highly recommend going for it if you're considering it.

  Best surfing lesson in the world!

  My trip to San Francisco turned out to be both surprising and essential. I had planned to surf in the Pacific and booked a lesson with Adventure Out. Truthfully, this was my best surfing lesson yet, surpassing my experiences in Bali, Normandy, and Madeira. Instructor Gerry was exceptional; he taught me to embrace imperfection and connect with the ocean, the water, and the surfboard. Gerry’s patience and life insights provided me with the tools to truly immerse myself in the ocean. I am grateful for this amazing experience.

  Problems with safety and general vibe

  There were significant concerns regarding safety. I collided with the rocks, resulting in a large bruise and some scratches, though it could have been much worse. The instructor and their assistant were often inattentive and didn't guide us well on how to swim back. They also provided minimal safety instructions before going into the water. The assistant focused almost entirely on one skilled participant, neglecting the rest of us. After I managed to free myself from the rocks and return to the group, the assistant publicly reprimanded me instead of ensuring I was okay. Additionally, the overall atmosphere felt off. Throughout the activity, we were treated dismissively, and the assistant consistently mispronounced my name while seeming to pay little attention to the group.

  Great first surf lesson

  Our surf lesson was amazing. The instructor, Ben if I recall correctly, prioritized safety, which was reassuring given the large waves for newcomers. With some help, we successfully caught waves, and it was a lot of fun. We even spotted a sea lion!

  Mom and sons surff day!

  Spending the day surfing with my sons was a memorable family bonding experience. Chace, our instructor, was fantastic; he patiently matched our learning speeds, ensuring we all had fun in our wetsuits that kept us warm. We'll definitely return.
