I shared our desire to see the 'big 5' at the Kinabatangan River with him, and he was very accommodating. He picked us up from the Jungle Resort in Sepilok and drove us to the river for our cruise. The guide he arranged was excellent, spotting a variety of wildlife such as different monkeys, orangutans, crocodiles, and rhinoceros hornbills. We had a wonderful experience. After the tour, Abdul took us back to our next hotel. He is polite, reliable, and trustworthy, doing an exceptional job organizing this memorable trip. I highly recommend his services. The van ride left us uncertain about what lay ahead, but upon arriving at the boat excursion, we were amazed. It was an incredible experience where we spotted the Big Five amidst stunning scenery. The roadside dinner was also enjoyable.
Mr. Angus, our driver, picked us up from the Sandakan hotel and was very friendly. The drive lasted about two hours, during which we had enjoyable conversations. We then had an amazing experience with Mr. Aji on a lengthy river cruise, where we spotted elephants, monkeys, crocodiles, and various hornbill species. I highly recommend this experience to anyone. 10/10.
The pickup was efficient, and while the drive was lengthy, the boat cruise was enjoyable with a friendly and knowledgeable guide. A simple yet delicious dinner was served on the return to my hotel. Considering the transport time, the tour could benefit from being longer than two hours for the price.

Our family of six has just returned from an unforgettable 8-day, 7-night adventure in Borneo, specifically in Sandakan, thanks to Christopher. Recommended by a friend, he made our trip exceptional from the start. We began our journey in Kota Kinabalu, where Christopher drove us to Maragang Hill for a wonderful hike, where we enjoyed stunning views of Mount Kinabalu and a spectacular sunset. We also visited hot springs and were fortunate to see the Rafflesia flower in bloom. Later, he drove us to Sandakan, where we spent 2 days and 1 night on Turtle Island. This experience was incredible—snorkeling, swimming, witnessing turtles lay eggs, and releasing baby turtles into the sea was magical. On the third day, Christopher picked us up at the jetty and took us to the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre for a full-day excursion. The following day, we enjoyed a 3-day, 2-night stay at Borneo Natural Sukau Bilit Resort, complete with amazing river cruises on the Kinabatangan River, where we saw numerous wild animals in their natural environment. After this enriching experience, we returned to Sandakan for 2 days and 1 night at Sabah Hotel. We joined Christopher for a fireflies cruise and indulged in a delicious local buffet dinner in a quaint village, which was a delightful evening. On our final day, we flew from Sandakan to Kota Kinabalu before continuing to Kuching. Christopher was professional, caring, punctual, and adaptable. The journey from the hotel to the river takes some time on less-than-ideal roads. However, the driver was friendly and accommodating, providing opportunities for photo stops and bathroom breaks. The boat guide was knowledgeable, and the food served afterward was simple yet delicious.
It was a packed day where we spotted four of the big five. Pickup was punctual, and we enjoyed 3 hours and 20 minutes on the water. We were delayed by a crocodile sighting and elephants crossing the river. The day ran from noon to 9:30 PM, and while dinner was simple, it was enjoyable. The driver had a decent command of English, and the boat driver did a great job.
