You will then explore the boardwalk to the viewing gallery for the feeding session at 10 AM, where rangers feed the orang-utans milk and bananas.
After observing these fascinating creatures, the tour continues into Sandakan, where you will enjoy a local lunch and visit the Central Market, Sim-Sim Water Village, and the Puh Jih Syh Buddhist Temple. It’s a day packed with wildlife, culture, and local cuisine, so wear comfortable clothes and shoes for walking.

Absolutely yes! Bernadette did an excellent job organizing our transfers in Kota Kinabalu. After a two-hour delay with Air Asia, we were worried about our day. However, Bernadette worked with our guide Jackie, who greeted us with a smile and a driver at Sandakan airport. We had an amazing day observing orangutans, small bears, and proboscis monkeys. It was a memorable experience and a great value.
We had an amazing day. Our guide, James, was wonderful, very knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. I highly recommend this company.
It was incredible to observe both wild and sheltered orangutans, all thanks to our fantastic guide Hassan. His advice greatly enhanced our experience, making it truly amazing. On a whim, we also visited the Sun Bear sanctuary, and Hassan ensured everything ran smoothly for that addition. I highly recommend this place.
Starting our holiday in Borneo with this experience was wonderful. It was an excellent day, and our guide was exceptional. We appreciate such a fantastic beginning to our trip.
The experience was not at all what I expected, and I left feeling very let down. The visit to the Orangutan Rehabilitation center seemed primarily focused on profit. Our guide frequently stopped to discuss his family, and by the time we reached the outdoor nursery, it was overcrowded. We encountered just one orangutan amidst a crowd of over 500 people in the viewing areas. The stage 4 interaction in the wild felt no different than a visit to a commercial venue in KL. As we paused for discussions, hundreds of people overtook us, leaving little opportunity for viewing. This does not align with the concept of nature tourism; it felt more like a money-making venture with little genuine experience for the visitors. This should be more accurately represented in advertising. As someone with a background in nature tourism, I found this disheartening. While the city tour was somewhat better and our guide made a great effort, the highlight was only the Buddhist temple.
