Two-hour guided wine tasting featuring wines from the Pacific Northwest, paired with local art and stories from winemakers.
The Orcas Project offers a unique wine tasting that goes beyond the usual palate assessment. Over the course of two hours, delve into a flight of wines sourced from talented winemakers across the Pacific Northwest. Each bottle not only tells the story of the vineyard and the people behind it but also showcases original artwork from local Orcas Island artists.
As you taste, a knowledgeable host will share insights about the wines and their creators, making this a distinctive experience in the San Juan Islands. Be prepared to engage with both the flavours in your glass and the creative inspirations of the label art.
Reviews
We had a big group, and Cole made arrangements for an after-hour tasting, which turned out to be the highlight of our weekend. The wines were excellent, the charcuterie was a delightful surprise, and the staff were both friendly and knowledgeable. We appreciated the relaxed patio atmosphere and highly recommend this experience to anyone traveling to Orcas Island.
The host demonstrated a deep understanding of both the wine and its producers. The cheese pairing with the tasting was thoughtfully arranged.
Be sure to try the cheeseboard. We enjoyed a five wine flight each and had a great time conversing with the woman managing the shop on Sunday. The jam is excellent as well, and you can find various types at the island market just a block away.
Participating in the wine tasting was a fantastic experience. The Orcas Project is an innovative concept, providing access to a selection of wines from exceptional local winemakers. The shop boasts a delightful atmosphere with an impressive assortment of international wines. We discovered a wonderful French Pinot Noir perfect for cooking boeuf bourguignon.
This was a wonderful break while we explored Eastsound. I appreciated the story behind the Orcas Project. We were lucky to sample a limited-edition red that was excellent and managed to buy some. I recommend this for those seeking a distinctive tasting experience.
The entire experience was fantastic, with incredibly kind people. The wine was outstanding, and the town itself is very inviting. This is definitely a place to visit to truly appreciate the sense of community.
Charming spot with surprisingly good wines and fast service. I'm not sure what else one could ask for, but it felt like a great deal.
